The Rudolf Loeb Collection consists of materials fragmentary in nature that deal primarily with the Loeb family and the banking house Mendelssohn & Co. Included in the collection are correspondence, documents, photographs, and printed materials.

The Ruth Gay Collection consists of Ruth Gay’s research material for her book The Jews of Germany: A Historical Portrait and includes numerous copies of the documents from the 1930s, photographs and illustrations used in the book and audio tapes with 11 interviews with German Jews living in Israel.

In 1961 Samuel L. Sumberg received a grant from the Leo Baeck Institute in New York to work on a project entitled Jewish Directors of the German Stage. Included in the collection are his notes, writings, correspondence and printed materials related to the subject. This work was not published.

The Simon Hirschland Family Collection includes genealogical material about the Hirschland and Simon families. These materials were collected by Albert J. Phiebig.

The Steven M. Lowenstein Collection documents professional activities of Steven Lowenstein, writer, researcher, historian, and teacher and consists of manuscripts, printed materials, statistical data, and correspondence. Documents comprising the collection reflect Dr. Lowenstein’s interests in a wide spectrum of topics related to Jews and Judaism, such as modernity and tradition and their influence on the religion and common folks, Berlin Jews of the upper strata, similarities and differences between agrarian/rural and urban Jews, Eastern and Western Jewry, popular and official Judaism, and secular and religious Jews, to name but a few topics.

The Steven Lowenstein Collections documents professional activities of Steven Lowenstein, writer, researcher, historian, and teacher. Documents comprising the collection reflect Dr. Lowenstein’s interests in a wide spectrum of topics related to Jews and Judaism, such as modernity and tradition and their influence on the religion and common folks, Berlin Jews of the upper strata, similarities and differences between agrarian/rural and urban Jews, popular and official Judaism, secular and religious Jews, and other Jewish related topics. However, there is a very small amount of materials related to Dr. Lowenstein’s professional activities other than research and writing.

This Collection documents the lifespan (1926-1982, 1990-1992, 1994) and activities of the joint Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox Jewish communities' efforts in coordinating Jewish life and activities in America. The collection contains correspondence, photographs, and ephemera including photographs of Martin Luther King, Jr., Edward Kennedy, and Presidents Eisenhower, Truman, and Johnson, along with Eleanor Roosevelt. Of particular interest is correspondence and photographs documenting the removal, reconsecration, or burial of ritual Synagogue items for repatriation from Europe to the U.S. and South America after WWII; also contains information on damaged synagogues in France.

A collection of printed rare German Judaica assembled by the scholar and collector Yosef Goldman. The collection consists of books, pamphlets, and decrees.

This collection contains writings by novelist Ulrich Alexander Boschwitz (1915–1942) as well as a few personal materials and documents about his estate and legacy.

Articles (photocopied typescripts) about the history of the Jewish community in Waechtersbach, Germany, as well as about its synagogue and its cemetery. Also included are published pamphlets about Waechtersbach.

The collection consists of materials documenting the lives of the Friedemann and Friedheim families. Included in the collection are family and professional correspondence, documents, musical scores by Walter Friedemann, poetry by various family members, a last will, and printed materials

The Walter Eberstadt Collection documents Walter Eberstadt’s efforts to recover art works belonging to his grandparents that were appropriated by the Nazi government. The collection consists of Walter Eberstadt’s correspondence with lawyers, art historians, museum, and government organizations in Holland and Germany. Additional materials include printed materials, invoices, and publications about Jan Toorop’s art.

The collection documents professional activities of Walter Herzfeld in the period before WW II and also, to a smaller degree, professional activities of his grandfather Abraham Herzfeld. The bulk of the collection consists of financial and legal documents and professional correspondence. Also included here are printed materials, drawings, personal correspondence, and educational documents.

The collection contains typescripts by Walther Rothschild, a publisher, scholar and author. The writing includes journals, drafts of an unpublished novel, and a travel report.

This collection documents the personal lives of Werner Weinberg’s immediate family and his in-laws, Hans and Rosa Halberstadt, as well Weinberg’s efforts to preserve the memory of the German Jews and the Jews of his hometown Rheda in particular as well as a limited amount of materials documenting his professional activities as a writer.

The collection documents Willy Nordwind’s efforts to bring as many German Jews as possible out of Germany before World War II. Included here is correspondence with those who had arrived or those whom Willy Nordwind was still trying to bring over.

The Wladimir G. Eliasberg Collection documents the lives of the members of the Eliasberg family and to a lesser extent professional activities of Wladimir Eliasberg. The collection consists of personal correspondence, writings, vital and professional documents, and printed materials.

The file contains various materials pertaining to the artist Wolf Hamburger.

The collection is primarily made up of photographs from circa 1930s-1950s of family, friends, and colleagues of the set designer Wolfgang Roth.
