Abstract

The Julius and Elisabeth Hirsch Collection holds the papers of this couple, with much of the collection consisting of family correspondence. Prominent subjects include the immigration of family members and genealogy of the family. In addition to extensive correspondence and family trees the collection includes notebooks, essays and articles, newspaper clippings, photographs, early drafts of Julius Hirsch's family memoir, and research notes.

Abstract

The collection contains the handwritten manuscript for Nahida Ruth Lazarus's autobiography Ich suchte dich, which was published by Verlag Siegfried Cronbach in 1898. Also included is a handwritten and signed postcard from Lazarus to Arnold Tänzer regarding the health of her husband Moritz Lazarus; a handwritten and signed postcard from Lazarus to Arnold Lazarus with mention of a new book about her husband Moritz Lazarus entitled Lazarus, der Begründer der Völkerpsychologie; and handwritten and signed letter from Lazarus detailing a lecture tour on which she embarked.
