The collection is organized in four series. Series I contains writings and publications by and about Elisabeth Freund about her personal life as well her work for the blind. There are several version of her manuscript "Zwangsarbeit Berlin 1941", which was published in 1996. She also wrote about her great-great-uncle, Julius R. Friedlaender, and published a book on home improvement for women in 1930. The series also contains her extensive writings, published and unpublished, on working with the blind, as well as publications and clippings about her and her work at the Overbrook School for the Blind. There are also several legal publications by Rudolf Freund. Series II: Correspondence contains both personal and professional correspondence by Elisabeth Freund, correspondence of her daughters Clare Freund and Ursula Goebel regarding her mother's work, and correspondence with the Leo Baeck Institute regarding the donation of Elisabeth Freund's papers. Series III: Photographs contains mainly images used in Elisabeth Freund's professional publications. The collection also contains a longhand writing device and workbooks developed by Elisabeth Freund (Series IV).

Correspondence on various topics, including emigration to the United States and Cuba; relocation in academic jobs; denazification and conditions in Germany after the war; and Kantorowicz's scholarship. Unpublished manuscripts, and offprints of articles and reviews by Kantorowicz, largely on medieval cultural history; a brief biography of him by Ralph Giesey. Manuscripts, correspondence, legal briefs, clippings, and other material on the loyalty-oath controversy; material on Kantorowicz's tenure at the University of Frankfurt, and on his dismissal. Manuscripts, correspondence, and other papers of family members; an art history essay by Gertrude Kantorowicz and a pamphlet of poetry from Theresienstadt; genealogies; and a manuscript on Simon Kaliphari of Posen; manuscript by Kaete Ledermann, A Memorial of Angi ("Esther") Kantorowicz, c. 1904-1944, 1954, including transcript compiled by Guenther Roth. Photos of Kantorowicz and of family members. Papers of Richard Kandt (1867-1918), an African explorer and, from 1908-1914, administrator of Ruanda: poems, letters, maps, and obituaries. Writings, correspondence, family documents and ephemera pertaining to Felix Auerbach. Felix Auerbach’s diaries, poetry and notes are written in Gabelsberger shorthand. Also included is information about Felix and Anna Auerbach.

The collection mainly contains articles, notes, manuscripts and other writings by Fritz Friedlaender on various topics as well as articles from other authors on related topics. There are articles on Gabriel Riesser, Friedrich Meinecke, Moritz Heimann, Heinrich Heine, Stefan Zweig, Richard Beer-Hofmann, Ulrich Sanders and others. The collection also contains letters to Friedlaender from Leo Baeck, Ismar Elbogen, and Max Wiener (1935-1972), and misc. personal documents.

The collection contains the correspondence between the writer and artist Rafaello (Lello) Busoni and the violinist Gerhard Meyer-Sichting from 1955 until Busoni’s death in 1962. Also included are diary entries; drawings; poems; and photographs. The majority of the materials relate to the creative and scholarly work of the two artists, as well as their familial life and their personal thoughts or opinions about art exhibitions, theater, and opera visits.

Papers of Hans Epstein (1905-1960), educator and historian. The collection consists of documents relating to Epstein's teaching activities during Nazi rule in Germany, and in New York during and after the Second World War; correspondence from before the emigration with individuals and organizations (including with Martin Buber, and Adolf Leschnitzer of the Reichsvertretung der Deutschen Juden); personal and business correspondence relating to immigration in 1938 and Epstein's work in New York; posters and postcards.

The John H. E. Fried Collection contains legal briefs prepared by Fried as a legal consultant to the Nuremberg Tribunal. Manuscripts, legal briefs, clippings, offprints, and memoranda by Fried, Justice Robert Jackson, John J. McCloy and others, cover a range of topics including war crimes, National Socialism, international law, and human rights. The collection contains proceedings of war crimes trials, in particular those of the Nuremberg Tribunal. Also of interest are drafts and research notes by Fried for books on human rights and international justice.

The collection consists primarily of published materials by and about Lena Lieba Gitter. Also included are copies of her educational certificates as well as some copied photographs and correspondence.

Clippings, correspondence, published and unpublished articles on learning disabilities and music therapy; contains testimony on her experience in the internment camp of Gurs, France.

This collection contains annual reports from Marks-Haindorfsche Stiftung.

This collection contains manuscripts and clippings of writings by Werner, correspondence, programs of the Freies Jüdisches Lehrhaus and various other materials.

The Otto Ehrlich Collection documents the life and professional activities of Otto Ehrlich, economist, lecturer, advertisement artist, and teacher. The collection includes brochures, booklets, clippings, correspondence, financial and immigration documents, minutes, notes, photographs, photo collages, examples of his advertisement work, printed materials and writings. Documents comprising the collection reflect various aspects of Otto Ehrlich’s personal and professional life, teaching, research and writings in the fields of economics, and to a lesser extent his involvement with the field of advertisement and music.

This collection contains honorary awards and some writings of Paula Ollendorff, as well as clippings from the 1930s German Jewish press and some condolence letters to her family.

The Robert Schwarz collection contains some original and photocopied materials pertaining to his biography, although the bulk consists of off-prints and photocopies of his published articles, dealing with Austrian history and literature in the 1930s.

Correspondence and materials by and about Kamnitzer and Echt on Danzig; personal materials on life in emigration; childhood memoirs in Danzig.

The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence relating to his efforts as a committee chairman for tree-planting efforts in Israel. Other materials concern his genealogy and his memoirs.
