Materials in this collection document both the private lives and business activities of the Nathan family, owners of shoe manufacturing companies in Frankfurt am Main and Chicago, through correspondence, documents, business records, and photographs. The collection focuses on Richard Nathan, his wife Anna Nathan née David, and their sons Franz Hermann, Erich, and Walter.

This is a collection of addenda to the Robitscher Family Collection (AR 25012) that further document the lives of Thomas Robitscher, his mother Magdalena Robitscher née Hahn, and his wife Anne Kelemen. Materials include personal correspondence, photographs, Thomas Robitscher’s personal papers, vital documents and other legal and official papers related to Thomas Robitscher, an inventory of his mineral collection, and correspondence regarding its donation.

The Rose Lehrberger Grossmann Collection holds papers and correspondence of Rose Grossmann and her husband Emil Grossmann. The collection contains immigration documentation, letters and official papers reflecting the attempt to get visas for Rose's parents as well as documents related to Rose and Emil Grossmann's restitution claims.

This collection documents the restitution claims made by Clementine Neumann (1889-1967) on behalf of herself and her husband, Isak Neumann (1881-1951), who ran a piano-leasing business in Frankfurt am Main before the Neumann family emigrated in 1938. The collection contains correspondence, legal documents, and some financial records.

The Salomon Benedikt Goldschmidt Family Collection encompasses family papers and genealogical information on the family, documenting several generations of the Goldschmidt family as well as the related Porges von Portheim family. Included are short memoirs and diaries along with official and legal documents and two genealogical works with numerous family trees. Other items include account books, newspaper clippings, and a few letters and photographs.

This collection contains a photocopy of the handwritten Bar Mitzvah register of the Israelitische Religionsgesellschaft at the Friedberger Anlage synagogue in Frankfurt, which was maintained by Salomon Steinberger. Steinberger (1883-1971) was the chazan of the Israelitische Religionsgesellschaft for almost 30 years. The collection also includes photocopies of brief biographies of Salomon Steinberger by his daughter and grand-daughter; Austrian military draft records from World War One; a letter regarding his move from Frankfurt to London in 1939; and photographs of Steinberger and his family.

The collection contains primarily clippings and other published materials (some photocopies) pertaining to Samson Schames’s exhibitions. Also included are photographs of Samson Schames (some with Edith or family members) as well as other personal documents.

The collection contains documentation of the Stern family, including a passport for Abram Süskind Stern; letters for the appointment of mathematician Moritz Abraham Stern as associate professor and professor at the University of Göttingen; brief obituary for historian Alfred Stern; and notes on the life of Süsskind Stern. Of particular interest is a mohel book from the ancestors of Moritz Abraham Stern in Frankfurt am Main with 55 pages of handwritten entries dating from 1698 to 1826.

The Vera Margot Kowalski Soliman Family Collection contains correspondence on Vera Margot Kowalski Soliman's legal and financial matters.

The bulk of the collection consists of documents of the Wald family. Most of them were used to get American visas or citizenship. A body of correspondence is also part of the collection. The focus of these letters concerns emigration / immigration, and the possibility of fleeing Germany.

The collection holds correspondence and manuscripts pertaining to the extended Weil family. The bulk of the correspondence comes from Berthold and Selma Weil in Frankfurt and in England to their children in Palestine/Israel and in the USA. Also included are letters from Rickchen Rosenthal née Marx (Selma Weil’s mother) from Frankfurt and Theresienstadt.

It largely documents the professional work of William Levison, the personal correspondence and interests of Charlotte Engel Levison, and the family history of both the Levison and Engel families, including papers of family ancestors. Among the papers of this collection are official papers, correspondence, poetry books, diaries, memoir material, military and professional papers, notes, and clippings.

The collection contains personal papers and belongings, photographs, and genealogical information regarding the Wormser family. To a large extent, the collection concerns the descendants of Heumann and Jette Wormser’s son Sigmund Wormser and his wife Fransika Wormser as well as their respective families.
