The Kaethe Placzek Collection contains family correspondence of Kaethe Placzek and her husband Julian Spiegel. Such correspondence includes letters sent to Kaethe by her parents while they were separated during summers, often while they attended health spas. Letters sent by Julian Spiegel are to his parents, especially during his time in World War I.

Robitscher Family Collection

Abstract

The Robitscher collection roughly covers a period beginning in the early 20th century to the mid 70’s. The bulk consists of a huge volume of correspondence concerning Thomas’ efforts to gain U.S. citizenship and a substantial amount of correspondence dealing with restitution claims. Most of the collection deals with Thomas, with smaller portions allotted to his mother, Magdalena Robitscher-Hahn, and his common-law wife Anne Kelemen.

This collection contains the correspondence - in photocopied originals and typed transcripts - between Sigismund Asch (1825-1901) and his wife Jenny, née Bauer (1832-1907). The bulk was written 1867-1900; also included are transcribed courtship-letters from Sigismund Asch to Jenny Bauer in 1853, as well as a published article about Sigismund Asch.
