The collection contains documents related to birth, education, marriage, employment, emigration, death as well as correspondence, writings, clippings and photographs for Martha Werner, her husband Berthold Werner, her sisters Hansi and Liesel, her parents Heinrich Gruen and Mathilda Goldstein, and her husband's parents Koloman Werner (Kohn) and Rosa Heumann. There are baptism certificates for several family members.

The collection contains documents pertaining to Mimi (Mina Dora) Reiter and her parents Adolf Reiter and Friedericke Reiter née Weitzman, particularly concerning their emigration from Austria to the United States. Included in the collection are residency certificates; identity certificates; receipt for the fee for a certificate of arrival in the United States; naturalization certificates; literacy certificates; earnings statement; birth certificate; and marriage certificates.

Originals and transcriptions of correspondence between Richard and Paula Beer-Hofmann, 1896-1935, on a variety of topics, including family matters, current events, and Richard's professional activities as playwright and theatrical producer; correspondence of other members of the Beer-Hofmann family with each other and other individuals, including Kurt Blumenfeld, Walter Grossman, Antoinette von Kahler, and Olga Schnitzler; correspondence of members of the Beer and Hofmann families in the nineteenth century.

The Mühlfelder and Roeckert Families Collection contains both primary sources and research materials that, together, combine to record the history of these families. Charles C. Milford (born Klaus Mühlfelder) compiled the research materials; the greatest quantity of correspondence, documents, and photographs in the collection also pertains to his life. Documents include vital documents, educational records, military service records, and materials relating to Charles C. Milford’s career as a librarian. In addition to Milford, his father Simon Mühlfelder and wife Patricia E. Milford feature most prominently in the first three series of the collection. Family history research focuses on Simon Mühlfelder’s first wife Martha Kassel and people within her milieu. This research is compiled from Milford’s correspondence with scholars and archives, relevant archival finding aids and photocopies of documents held by various archives, articles, photocopies from books, catalog records for pertinent books, and Wikipedia pages and other printouts of biographical information from the Internet. These same types of material also make up Milford’s research on topics of interest, including the history of Jews in Germany broadly and of the Mühlfelder family specifically.

This collection contains eulogies for Curtis L. Hereld (1923-2005), and genealogical tables and other family information for Peter Hereld, Curtis Hereld, and the Steinberg family.

This collection contains correspondence, records, and publications of the United Service for New Americans (USNA), the major immigration and resettlement organization in the United States for Jewish displaced persons immigrating in the late 1940s and early 1950s. These records document USNA’s interaction and coordination with the United States government’s Displaced Persons Commission, associated Jewish agencies, particularly the American Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), and representatives of Jewish settlement groups in cities and towns across the country. The organization helped obtain housing and job assurances for Jewish refugees without family in the United States and provided assurances that they would not become public charges. The correspondence and records in this collection document the entire process of immigration and resettlement, including obtaining the necessary assurances required for displaced persons to immigrate to the United States, relief services provided immediately upon the refugees’ arrival, their designation to and arrival in communities across the country, and the services provided to the new immigrants by their local Jewish communities thereafter.

Materials in this collection document both the private lives and business activities of the Nathan family, owners of shoe manufacturing companies in Frankfurt am Main and Chicago, through correspondence, documents, business records, and photographs. The collection focuses on Richard Nathan, his wife Anna Nathan née David, and their sons Franz Hermann, Erich, and Walter.
