This collection contains a substantial amount of correspondence written by Heinrich and Toni Busse while in hiding in Berlin 1939-1945, as well as manuscript drafts of Heinrich Busse's anti-war writings, some of his personal papers and official documents.

The Jewish Veterans Association Collection holds this association's organizational records, such as membership lists, a memorial book, financial and tax records, meeting minutes, some clippings and notes.

The John L. Englander Family Collection describes the life of John L. Englander's mother and her family members. From 1937 to 1943 they corresponded between America, where John’s sister Elisabeth lived, and Augsburg. The letters describe their growing desperation and the need to send the children (Elisabeth and Hans, Elisabeth's twin sister stayed in Germany) out of Germany. The correspondence is the largest part of the collection. It furthermore contains poetry books and some photographs.

This collection documents the personal and professional life of aerospace engineer Kurt Heinrich Hohenemser (1906-2001) in Germany and the United States. Mainly comprised of diaries and correspondence, materials in this collection describe Hohenemser’s education in Germany, work at and dismissal from the University of Göttingen in 1933, work for the aircraft manufacturer Anton Flettner during World War II, attempts to regain his position at Göttingen, and his family’s immigration to and new life in the United States. Correspondence with family and friends throughout Germany includes discussion of the political, economic, and social situation in Germany both during the World War II and during the post-war and Cold War periods. Also included in the collection are official documents and correspondence pertaining to Kurt Hohenemser’s parents, the musicologist Richard Heinrich Hohenemser (1870-1942) and his wife Alice Matilda Florence Hohenemser née Salt (1879-1942).

This collection tells the story of Liselotte (Lilo) Thekla Lamm, her parents Leo Lamm and Margarete (Gretel) Lamm née Falk, husbands Norbert Goldenberg, Hans Gerhard Ollendorff, and William (Bill) Thurnauer, their children and grandchildren, and members of their extended families. The families’ lives in Germany, immigration to the United States, and professional, political and philanthropic activities are documented through vital documents, photographs, correspondence, writings, articles, and clippings.

The collection contains various documents and writings related to Grete Stohr and her niece, Lisa Neuman. The materials are primarily concerned with their respective emigrations from Vienna to New York.

The bulk of this collection consists of letters Manfred Swarsensky wrote to Hanna (Hansi) Pollack Baruch, who had lived in Berlin until she immigrated to the United States, where she lived in New York City. She served as the president of the sisterhood of Congregation Habonim, and later moved to Alexandria, Virginia. The correspondence begins after Swarsensky left Germany and arrived in the United States in 1939 and continues through 1981, shortly before his death. He wrote just a few letters each year, but these letters usually contain very detailed updates on his life. The first letters provide a wealth of information about his immigration and his first years in the United States. Also included in this collection are several speeches and sermons Manfred Swarsensky gave and articles he wrote for the Aufbau in New York and the Wisconsin State Journal as well as a detailed account about his immigration, which he wrote shortly after his arrival in 1939. In addition, there are articles about Manfred Swarsensky and many obituaries. The only item that dates from his time as a rabbi in Berlin is an article about Pessach he wrote for the Juedisches Gemeindeblatt in Berlin in 1938.
