This collection contains materials relating to Edith and Herbert Feist and family. It includes personal papers from Edith and Herbert, such as courtship correspondence in the early 1930s. Herbert Feist's professional materials relate to his work in Germany as a sketch artist, as well as to his businesses in the United States, primarily his art gallery. The collection also includes materials about the Feist's relatives, particularly Herbert's maternal grandfather Max Herschel. A leader in the Jewish community of Bonn, Herschel's papers here include manuscript and printed poems and translations (religious and secular). Photographs and genealogical research are also found in this collection.

This collection holds papers of the philosopher Karl Joël and of various members of the Philippson family. Karl Joël's material includes personal and professional correspondence and a considerable amount of his notes, along with newspaper clippings on him and a few articles. Philippson family material largely focuses on Phöbus, Ludwig and Moritz Philippson's family correspondence and writing. Also present are letters of other family members, a few official documents and notes.

This collection holds the papers of rabbi Ludwig Philippson and other Philippson family members. Noteworthy items in this collection include handwritten manuscripts by Ludwig Philippson, correspondence between various family members, and diaries kept by Henriette and Moritz Philippson; the latter describes experiences as a medical student in Jena. In addition, the collection also holds manuscripts by the geographer Alfred Philippson that describe in depth family members as well as his experiences as a student, lecturer, and professor. Other items include detailed family trees, official papers, poems, notes, clippings, wills, and photographs.

The Seligsohn Kroner Family Collection consists of material that reflects the life and work of the philosopher Richard J. Kroner (1884-1974), his wife Alice Kroner née Kauffmann (1885-1968), their daughter Gerda M. Seligsohn née Kroner (1909-2002), and their son-in-law Rabbi Rudolf Seligsohn (1909-1943). The collection primarily consists of correspondence relating to the emigration experiences of each of the family members. In addition, the collection contains personal documents, newspaper clippings, off-prints of the philosophical writings of Richard Kroner, photographs, a photo album, and a few paintings.
