Photocopies

This collection consists of documents of the Nothmann family, including personal correspondence and official documents, such as passports and certificates. A lot of the material is about or from the time of the Nazi persecution.

This collection contains official certificates documenting the lives of four family members of the Ogutsch-Katz family. Also included are report cards, clippings, correspondence, and obituaries, as well as many photographs.

The Oscar H. Netter Family Collection contains detailed genealogies and a history of the Netter (alternately spelled Neter or Noether) family with supporting papers, including clippings, articles and family and business documents.

Rabbi Oscar M Lifshutz (1916-1990), served as Army Chaplain during World War II and Korea. This collection contains photocopies documenting his life.

This collection contains photocopies of documents pertaining to Anton Felix Perl’s emigration from Vienna to Canada, as well as has medical training and career as a physician in Canada, including school and medical certificates, correspondence, vital records, and photographs. Also included are family trees of the Perl and Richter families, as well as an essay, photographs, and clippings about Dr. Frederick Ludwig Eid, with whom Perl worked in Macklin, Saskatchewan.

The primary focus of the Renee Aldor Collection is on the immigration experience of Renee and Ernst Aldor and Ernst Aldor's internment in Dachau. Documentation on these subjects includes various official documents, including identification papers, immigration documentation, and some correspondence. In addition, about half of the collection consists of photographs, including family snapshots and a photo album.

This collection contains a photocopy of the handwritten Bar Mitzvah register of the Israelitische Religionsgesellschaft at the Friedberger Anlage synagogue in Frankfurt, which was maintained by Salomon Steinberger. Steinberger (1883-1971) was the chazan of the Israelitische Religionsgesellschaft for almost 30 years. The collection also includes photocopies of brief biographies of Salomon Steinberger by his daughter and grand-daughter; Austrian military draft records from World War One; a letter regarding his move from Frankfurt to London in 1939; and photographs of Steinberger and his family.

The collection contains genealogical research materials compiled by Senta K. Simon on the Bachmann, Beihoff, Ettisch, Fechheimer, Fleischmann, Freudenthal, Friedeberg, Friedmann, Kahn, Katz, Pretzfelder, Reichmannsdörfer, Rosenbaum, Rosenthal, Schloss, and Simon families, as well as locations with which they were associated, primarily in Franconia and Thuringia. Materials include correspondence, research files, work sheets and lists, and a small quantity of primary sources.

This collection consists of documents of and about the Sobel family, including the family's genealogy, correspondence (primarily about the family's history), family reunions, a detailed will of a family member, and photocopies of photographs.

The Solender Family Papers document the professional achievements and to a lesser extent, the personal lives, of the members of the Solender family. The Solender family has been influential in the field of Jewish Communal Services since the 1930s. Family members that are most prominently represented in the collection include Samuel Solender (1890-1961), his son Sanford Solender (1914-2003), and his grandson Stephen Solender (1938- ).

This collection contains research files on émigrés from Germany, Austria, and German-speaking Czechoslovakia during the Nazi period (1933-1945). These files were compiled by researchers at the Research Foundation for Jewish Immigration in New York and the Institut für Zeitgeschichte in Munich in preparation for the publication of The Biographisches Handbuch der deutschsprachigen Emigration nach 1933/International biographical dictionary of Central European émigrés 1933-1945.

This collection documents the lives of Vera Meyer's family members, especially her parents, Alfred and Eva Meyer, but also involving her grandparents and uncles. Prominent in the collection are the many family photographs and copies of family correspondence, including immigration and wartime letters. Other material consists of some biographical essays and a family tree.

The Waller Family Collection contains genealogical research on the Waller, Baer and other related families. It includes research correspondence, notes, photocopied historical records of family members, family trees, and photographs.

The Wartensleben-Levi-Rosenbaum-Klippstein Collection pertains to the genealogy and history of these related families. Included are genealogical tables and photocopied documents. Photocopies consist of a narrative history of the family, photographs, clippings, and official documents such as birth, marriage, and death certificates.

This collection contains a variety of vital records, identification papers, legal documents and family records from the Dreyfuss, Freiberg, and Marx families, mostly from the 19th century, as well as family trees, personal histories, and research material, much of which was used in Werner Marx's book, Circumstances: a family history.
