Tax records

This collection documents the personal lives of Leo Rapp (1924-2004), his wife Hildegard Rapp née Kaiser (1921-1997), his aunt Rosa Lang née Rapp, and her husband Julius Lang. There are approximately equal amounts of papers and photographs ranging from the late 19th century through approximately 2005. The papers include vital records, immigration papers, military records, tax records, school grades, correspondence, biographical notes, and family trees. The photographs consist mainly of formal and casual photographs of Leo Rapp, Rosa Lang, and Julius Lang, alongside many family group photographs.

The Lithuanian Jewish Communities Collection is comprised of documents relating to Jewish cultural, religious, social, political, and economic life in approximately 150 towns in Lithuania. The bulk of the collection pertains to the period between 1919 and 1926, when elements of a system of Jewish national autonomy existed within the Lithuanian state, including a Ministry of Jewish Affairs and governmentally empowered Jewish community councils. Smaller parts of the collection relate to the periods before (1860-1918) and after (1927-1940) the autonomy.

The Friends of Ida Kaminska Foundation, Inc. was formed in 1969, shortly after the world-renowned Yiddish actress, Ida Kaminska, immigrated to the United States. The purpose of the foundation was to establish, fund, and promote the Ida Kaminska Theatre in New York. Though the foundation managed to put together one theatrical production, financial difficulties forced the foundation to stop its activities in 1973.

The Edmund and Berta Wachs Collection consists of documents of Edmund, his wife, and their daughter, and correspondence from official authorities, friends, and relatives. Prominent topics are the emigration from Europe, the imprisonment of Edmund Wachs in 1938, and his job applications. The documents include official certificates, taxation papers, a student registration book, and identification papers.
