Genealogical tables and other materials describing the ancestry of Rabbi Akiba Eger (1761-1837) and his descendents.

The collection holds published manuscripts pertaining to the social history of Jewish families in northern Germany.

The Egon Fromm Family Collection documents the lives of members of the Fromm and Heumann families, with a focus on the families of Walter Fromm and Carola Heumann, the parents of Egon Fromm. Included is family correspondence that relates to the family's emigration and search for relatives after the war. Other papers include songs and speeches from family weddings, a friendship book, passports and genealogy research for both branches of the family.

The collection contains correspondence among members of the Ehrenberg and Rosenzweig families, including let-ters from Franz Rosenzweig, Adam Rosenzweig, Philipp and Richard Ehrenberg, as well as with other parties, including Rudolph von Jhering, Betty Mauthner, Claire von Gluemer, Jacob Freudenthal and, in copies only, Leopold and Adelheid Zunz and Heinrich Heine. Also included are engagement contracts, marriage banns, school curricula and certificates, character refer-ences, eulogies, family histories, and other documents concerning family members. This material also reflects much of the history of the Samsonschule in Wolfenbuettel of which members of the Ehrenberg family were principals.

The Einstein Family Genealogy Collection consists of genealogical research on the family. It includes photocopies of German historical records pertaining to numerous family members, many family trees, genealogical research correspondence, and notes on the resided.

This collection contains the personal papers of members of the Einzig and Biberfeld (later Field) families. Physician Heinrich Biberfeld immigrated via Italy to New York City with his wife Johanna, two sons, and his mother-in-law in 1940. The collection includes personal correspondence with family members who had not been able to flee Germany, as well as vital records, education records, World War I military records, records of Henry Field’s medical career in Germany and New York, genealogical tables, and photographs.

Eleanor Alexander née Eyck (1913-2009) and her husband Paul Alexander (1910-1977) were both born in Berlin and immigrated to the United States in the 1930s, where Paul Alexander became a respected professor of Byzantine history. This collection mainly documents his education and career. Several folders also contain book reviews and biographical information related to the lawyer and historian Erich Eyck, Eleanor’s father. It also contains correspondence between Eleanor Eyck and her parents from the 1930s, a few photographs, a family tree, and a few materials relating to other family members.

The collection has a particular focus on the education, marriage, and emigration of John (born Hans Elias) and Eva (née Steinitz), with further documentation of the couple's early lives and later professions. In addition, the collection holds a great deal of information on their extended families, with material on the related Elias, Steinitz/ Samuel, Fein, Goldschmidt, Eschwege, Mindus, and related families, including documentation of individual family members and the families in general and their histories. The collection includes extensive family and personal correspondence, official documents and correspondence, personal and professional writing, educational certificates, immigration documentation, photographs and photo albums, family trees and narratives of family history, and other documentation.

The Else Richthofen-Jaffé Correspondence primarily consists of the family correspondence of this social scientist. Much of the collection consists of Else Richthofen-Jaffé's correspondence with her adult children and their families, although some correspondence with other family members or other close individuals is also present. In addition the collection contains parts of an unpublished work on the family and some genealogical notes.

This collection consists of papers of the family of Emil Mosbacher. Prominent are the personal papers and correspondence of Emil and Stephen Sigmund Mosbacher. In addition, the collection holds a number of family photographs and photo albums as well as genealogical information on members of the related Flack and other families.

The Ennis Brandenburger Family Collection documents the Brandenburger genealogy as well as the family business they established in Wil, Switzerland. Information on the history of the Jewish Community in Gailingen, Germany is also present. The collection includes various official and citizenship certificates, family trees and narratives on the family history, contracts relating to marriage or the transfer of property, photographs and a newspaper clipping.

The Enrique Lerdau Family Collection focuses on documentation of the lives of Fritz and Barbara (née Elkan) Lerdau and their children, including their early years, marriage, and emigration to Peru. In addition the collection provides material on the Elkan and Rée families and their members, and to a smaller extent on the Lerdau (formerly Levy) family, including some genealogical information. The history of the hops industry and of the company J.F.U. Scheibel is also mentioned among the documents of this collection. The collection includes an assortment of documents, including extensive correspondence; several memoirs; official, legal, educational, financial, and military documents; many photographs; and family writings including poems, notebooks, and eulogies.

This collection documents the family of Eric and Thea Midas of Fürth, Germany and Niagara Falls, New York. It includes correspondence, vital documents, photographs and photo albums, as well as genealogical materials. Extensive information about the Jews of Fürth is found in this collection.

The collection consists primarily of newspaper clippings and other published materials regarding various Jewish communities, topics, and personalities, all compiled by Eric Davidson. Also included is the correspondence to and from Davidson that helped to acquire these materials.

This collection contains a notebook, circa 1930, with transcriptions of 1820s contracts from the Staatsarchive Bamberg for the schützjuden Salomon Benjamin Frank of Heiligenstadt. There is also a folder of (primarily transcripts and copies) of loose documents from municipal archives in Germany related to Salomon Benjamin Frank, Wolf Frank and his son, Leopold Frank: tax documents, marriage contract, property inventory, other contracts from Bamberg and Bayreuth (1824-1896). Accompanying this material is a family tree and history, compiled in the 1970s, tracing the Frank family from the 18th to late 20th century.

The Erich Jacobs collection contains documents and correspondence, as well as genealogical tables of both the Jacobs and Neumann families. There are several documents regarding emigration attempts, as well as receipts, passport and naturalization forms, registrations to various organizations, and certificates. Much of the collection includes facsimiles of the original records with translations attached.

The Erich Seligmann Collection documents the noteworthy events in the life of this bacteriologist and hygienist, holding material on both his personal and professional life. The material focuses on the events of the 1930s and 1940s, including the loss of his position in Berlin, his immigration to the United States and World War II. The collection consists of diaries, a family history, professional documentation, a small amount of correspondence and a few family trees.

This collection documents the life and work of the Erna and Werner Blade family and details 20th century Jewish life in Wuerzburg, Nuremberg and in exile. It consists mainly of writings; genealogical documents; education, legal and military documents; photographs and postcards.

Ernest Goodman (born Ernst Gutmann) was a button and accessories salesman who immigrated to the United States in 1936. The collection contains correspondence and official papers belonging to him and his second wife, Carole Goodman née Vad. The collection documents Ernest’s unsuccessful attempts to bring his parents to the United States between 1936-1941 and his and Carole’s applications for restitution for themselves and their parents. A large collection of family photographs, a photo album, and a family tree are also part of the collection.

This collection represents a lifetime of genealogical research by Ernst R. Stiefel about his family history. Files about individuals and families contain documents that are almost entirely photocopies from various German archives. Various family trees and photocopies of articles about Jews in Germany are also in this collection.

The Ernst Heumann Family Collection documents three generations of this family, including members of the Messer, van Gelder, Oppenheim, Haas, and related families. Much of the collection centers on how the businessman Ernst Heumann and his wife Hedi née Messer established themselves in the United States and built their family, although documentation on their early lives in Germany and their emigration is also present. Although the bulk of the collection consists of the family's extensive personal correspondence, official and personal documents are also a central part of the collection. The collection contains correspondence; official documents; educational documents; family writing including poems, essays and short stories; travel memorabilia; some immigration papers; legal documents; Ernst Heumann's business correspondence and papers; family trees; and other documentation.
