The collection documents the work of Carl Misch (1896-1965), a German journalist who immigrated to the United States, via France during the Second World War. The bulk of this collection consists of clippings of articles, opinion pieces, and nonfiction book reviews that he contributed to various German-language publications while living first in Germany (1921-1933) and then abroad (1936-1965). As a prominent émigré intellectual, many of the clippings and correspondence that Misch collected cover the lives, work, emigration, and death of numerous Germans living in exile. The collection includes correspondences, clippings, and manuscripts relating to the academic works in the fields of history and political science that he published during his tenure at at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. A small selection of materials are about Misch himself; these items include clippings, photographs, official documents, and obituaries.

The Carol Davidson Baird Papers contain documentation of her family history. The collection includes copies of photographs, certificates and letters of various family members since 1862. It also contains genealogical charts reaching back to the 15th century.

This collection documents the history of the Kahn family from the 19th century to the end of the 20th century. The bulk of the materials relate to Alfred and Lotte Kahn, who fled Germany for New York City in 1939, where Alfred made a career as a lawyer and Lotte as a stockbroker. Paper materials include a family tree, vital records, correspondence, memoirs, education and emigration records, World War I military records, clippings, speeches, and ephemera. Papers showing the activities of the Kahn family in the Congregation Habonim in New York City are also included, as well as a large amount of family photographs ranging from the 1880s to 1969.

The Carola Levy Collection holds the papers of Carola Levy Kaufmann as well as of the Levy and Feldheim families and related families. The collection consists of correspondence, article manuscripts, copies of family members' documents and newspaper clippings, and a friendship book.

The Cassirer-Tietz Family Collection concentrates on the genealogy of the Cassirer and related families. It also holds some biographical information on family members along with papers of a few individual members. The collection includes both research and personal correspondence, family trees and related research notes, documentation on the family foundation, articles and newspaper clippings, and photographs and negatives.

The collection contains various documents and papers related to the life of Celia Schweitzer including family trees and geneology notes, several vital certificates, a poetry album, correspondence and sewing patterns.

The collection contains correspondence regarding the Chambré family, accompanied by notes and clippings on the Jewish community and Chambré family of Lich (Hesse). Also included is an illustrated yahrzeit reminder for Carl Chambré.

This collection contains lists of businesses (mostly clothing and department stores) owned by the Conitzer family, a short biography of Rudolf Conitzer, and several Conitzer family tree charts. An illustrated brochure from the late 1920s or early 1930s also offers some historical information on the family's businesses, as well as photographs of several of their stores in northern and eastern Germany.

Family tree of the Cramer family traced back to Hirsch Cramer, from Thundorf, Upper Franconia, spanning dates 1759-1974.

Vital records, education certificates, correspondence, as well as genealogical and other archival materials pertaining to the extended Dannhauser family. Also available are materials pertaining to Fred (Manfred) Roesler.

This collection contains various typescript translations and speeches by the translator David Berger.

This collection contains personal papers, correspondence, and vital records of David Tachauer and the Tachauer and Löw families, as well as extensive genealogical tables compiled by David Tachauer and others.

The collection contains extensive correspondence sent from Siegmund and Therese Wronkow and Adolf and Helene Salomon to their children and grandchildren in Ecuador. The letters describe in great detail the deprivations and restrictions of the remaining Jewish community, from forced leaving of their homes to smaller and smaller quarters, closing of Jewish old age homes and hospitals to final deportations. As the Jewish community was deprived of their monies, their posessions or any means of making a living they sank lower and lower into poverty. This caused a great strain on family relations and available social services.

This collection contains material about David Weiler and his family, including vital documents and photographs. It also contains translations by Paul Engelmann of Hebrew poems into German.

The Denise Wilde Family Collection holds the papers of members of the Wilde and Szymanski families, with much of the material centering on the life of dentist Herbert Wilde. The collection largely focuses on the immigration of the Wilde family, the education and Belgian dental practice of Herbert Wilde, and the restitution claims of several family members. The collection consists of official and educational documents, correspondence, photographs and family trees.

The collection contains materials relating to the members of the Wilde family that are addenda to the Denise Wilde Family Collection (AR 25189). The items in this collection consist primarily of restitution correspondence, official documents such as birth and death certificates, as well as a few personal notes by Bertha Wilde and family trees.

Family tree of the Eleasar Steinthal family of Gröbzig, Germany, from 1720 to 1935. The family tree includes some birth and death dates and locations. Also included is a photocopy of the original family tree with additions up to 1961.

The Dimon-Kurrein Family Collection contains the assorted papers of the Kurrein, Blau, Dimon, and Loewe families. A special focus is on the family correspondence during and after their emigration to the United States and Palestine in 1934. Official documents, a biographical essay, a family photo album, articles on Max Kurrein and several family trees are included in the collection.

The collection comprises a large amount of legal documents, deeds, correspondence and clippings relating to the Dobrin family of Freienwalde. The majority of the documents are from the 19th century.

The collection contains documentation of the Stein and Kaufman families, including family correspondence and histories.

The collection consists of photographs, letters, documents and books related to the life of Dorothea Gould, née Guttmann, and her husband, Henry Gould.

The Richard Koch Collection documents the work of Richard Koch, a physician and professor active from the 1910s to the 1940s. The papers include a collection of his poetry as well as documents reflecting his legacy and contribution to the field of medical theory. The collection is arranged in two series and includes poetry, biographical notes, newspaper and journal articles, genealogical materials, and scans of books.

This collection contains materials relating to Edith and Herbert Feist and family. It includes personal papers from Edith and Herbert, such as courtship correspondence in the early 1930s. Herbert Feist's professional materials relate to his work in Germany as a sketch artist, as well as to his businesses in the United States, primarily his art gallery. The collection also includes materials about the Feist's relatives, particularly Herbert's maternal grandfather Max Herschel. A leader in the Jewish community of Bonn, Herschel's papers here include manuscript and printed poems and translations (religious and secular). Photographs and genealogical research are also found in this collection.

The collection is comprised of correspondence, a friendship book, a family tree, and family photographs, which pertain to the life of Edith (Lichtenstein) Freese.

The Edna Ehrlich Collection: Personal Life, Professional Work and Music Interests is an extension of the Edna Ehrlich Papers (AR 25639). This collection includes material on the beginnings of the relationship of Edna and Otto Ehrlich prior to their marriage, on Edna Ehrlich’s friendships and personal life, and on her work as a promoter of Asian music in New York. It also includes a small amount of papers related to her professional work.

The bulk of the collection contains family correspondence mainly in typescript. The most extensive part are the letters from Olga Cohen to her son Max from 1882 to 1893. The collection also contains a manuscript with notes of conversations Eduard Cohen had with Otto von Bismarck as well as a letter of condolence from Bismarck to Eduard Cohen's children. In addition, there are miscellaneous letters, memorabilia, and genealogical notes.
