The collection includes official and personal documents, scrapbooks, family correspondence, biographical and autobiographical narratives, photographs, military documents, newspaper clippings, and other documents.

The Bernhard Family collection contains a small amount of family papers, government documents, photographs, genealogical information, and postcards. These documents include birth and marriage certificates and a passport from 1938. The postcards make up the majority of the collection and date from 1877-1890.

The Bernhard Sokolowski-Mirels Collection contains material pertaining to the family history of the Mirels family and personal documents of the Meyerhof family.

This collection documents the personal and professional life of Bernhard Witkop. Even though the major focus of the collection is on Witkop himself, there is a lot of correspondence between him and other Jewish friends, as well as material about other Jewish families like Levy-Salomonsohn and Ehrlich. The collection is composed of official documents, family trees, correspondence and newspaper articles.

This collection documents the family of Bernhard Wolff, extending back to his earliest known ancestor in 1646 through his grandchildren born in the 1970s. Born in Esens (Ostfriesland, Germany), Bernhard escaped National Socialist persecution by emigrating to Porto Alegre, Brazil in 1938, followed shortly thereafter by his wife Fanny née Mitau. His six siblings and mother Flora née Oppenheimer also emigrated, eventually settling in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, or the U.S. The collection contains correspondence, family trees, vital records, official documents, and photographs of family and Jewish historical sites. Also included are a three-volume family chronicle and a two-volume collection of materials on the Jewish community of Esens (Ostfriesland) created by Bernhard Wolff. A unique highlight of the collection is the postcard album belonging to Fanny’s mother Ida Mitau née Jacobsohn, who was not able to escape Germany and perished in Theresienstadt.

The Bruck-Jacobson Family Collection holds documentation of and genealogical research on this family as well as of members of the related Bruck and Flato families. The collection includes official papers, genealogical notes and family trees, personal and educational papers, receipts, paper currency, research notes, certificates, a handwritten cookbook and a handwritten housekeeping manual, a diary, photographs, and a sketch of a family residence.

The Buchheim Jonas Family Collection holds documentation of various branches of the Jonas family of Waldbreitbach, Germany, especially the descendants of Louis Jonas and Ella Buchheim, and tells of their emigration from Germany. In addition, it documents aspects of the life of Meier Buchheim of Dauborn, Germany, especially his attempt to emigrate and later death. The collection includes many family photographs, family trees, correspondence, official documents, material on the village of Waldbreitbach, and other documentation.

The Bueding family papers contain handwritten and printed original documents of the Bueding, Goldschmidt, Cohnheim and Mardorf families in Kassel, Hesse, including royal commissions, letters of protection, business matters, and family histories. They also hold documentation collected by the Bueding family about Jewish history in Kassel, especially about the history of French Jews, from the Middle Ages until the 19th century.

The bulk of the collection deals with a 1787 letter of protection for 25 Jewish families, allowing them to settle in Buttenhausen. Also included is material, documenting Jewish history in and around Buttenhausen; material, documenting the persecution of Jews, 1933-1945; and clippings about the dedication of various memorials, 1961-2000.

This collection contains materials by and about Carl A. Grosser (1912-1985) and his family. It includes correspondence, emigration materials and official and vital documents, and other materials. It also contains items about other members of Carl Grosser's family, including a family tree and materials about Grosser's father Oscar and mother Else.

The Boschwitz papers are focused on Carl Boschwitz's efforts with the Prisoners of War Relief Committee during World War I. The Leubsdorf papers trace the lineage of the Leubsdorf Family, notably related to the family of Heinrich Heine, and also include an eighteenth-century prayer book.
