The collection mainly pertains to Abraham Liebmann and his son Wilhelm, as well as on Abraham's grandson Siegfried and his great-grandson Albert, including their wives. It contains various documents, poetry and a large amount of correspondence from the 19th century. Prominent topics are related to the education, professional and military careers, politics, and marital lives of the family members. Also included are two restitution cases.

The Albert Salomon Family Collection holds papers of several members of the Salomon family, especially sociologist Albert Salomon, his wife Anna Salomon, his aunt social reformer Alice Salomon, and his daughter Hannah Salomon Janovsky. Much of the collection consists of family photographs. Other prominent materials include correspondence of Hannah Janovsky on the preservation and publication of her family members' writings and articles on the life of Albert Salomon. A small amount of family papers and genealogical information is also present.

This collection consists primarily of clippings and other published materials, amassed to illustrate the family trees of the Arnholds and related families, thus providing a picture of their activities as bankers, collectors, and public benefactors. Emphasis is given to the bank’s retirement plan, ’Gebrüder Arnholdscher Pensionsverein’ and to the art collector Eduard Arnhold and his foundation, Deutsche Akademie Rom Villa Massimo. Of special interest is a handwritten account about Kurt Arnhold’s escape from Germany to Holland in circa 1938.

The Barbara and Peter Rothholz Family Collection contains documents and photographs of the families of Peter Rothholz and his wife, Barbara Peters Rothholz (originally Baerbel Gruenpeter), along with papers of the extended family.

The Bernard Eckstein Addenda Collection focuses on providing documentation of the life of the chemist Bernard Eckstein, especially his early life in Ulm, Germany, his education in England and the United States, and his military service during World War II. The collection includes official and personal documents, scrapbooks, family correspondence, biographical and autobiographical narratives, photographs, military documents, newspaper clippings, and other documents.

The collection holds papers, photographs, documents and correspondence pertaining to four generations of the Altmann family. Topics of the collection are, among others, the lives of the family members in Austria-Hungary, in pre-war Austria, in the emigration process and in the United States. Part of the material focuses on the family’s genealogy. The collection comprises correspondence, memoirs, personal and official papers, family photographs, postcards and some notes.

This collection holds documentation about the personal and professional life of the artist Berthold M. Herko. It also includes some material about his family members, including members of the Cohn and Bock families. The collection includes many family photographs, official documents, documentation related to exhibits of his work, examples of his work, professional correspondence, and other papers.

This collection contains papers related to the lives of individuals belonging to the Berwin and Neisser families. The papers include documents related to the business operations of the Guttman company. as well as documents related to the emigration of the Berwin and Neisser families to Israel and the United States. The Buchheim Jonas Family Collection holds documentation of various branches of the Jonas family of Waldbreitbach, Germany, especially the descendants of Louis Jonas and Ella Buchheim, and tells of their emigration from Germany. In addition, it documents aspects of the life of Meier Buchheim of Dauborn, Germany, especially his attempt to emigrate and later death. The collection includes many family photographs, family trees, correspondence, official documents, material on the village of Waldbreitbach, and other documentation.

The Carola Levy Collection holds the papers of Carola Levy Kaufmann as well as of the Levy and Feldheim families and related families. The collection consists of correspondence, article manuscripts, copies of family members' documents and newspaper clippings, and a friendship book.

The Cassirer-Tietz Family Collection concentrates on the genealogy of the Cassirer and related families. It also holds some biographical information on family members along with papers of a few individual members. The collection includes both research and personal correspondence, family trees and related research notes, documentation on the family foundation, articles and newspaper clippings, and photographs and negatives.

This collection contains documents related to the membership of David Friedmann in several Freemason organizations. The materials include correspondence; official documents; newspaper clippings; and photographs. Most of the materials relate to the correspondence between David and the different Freemason lodges he was a member of as well as official documents documenting the membership of the lodges.

The Dimon-Kurrein Family Collection contains the assorted papers of the Kurrein, Blau, Dimon, and Loewe families. A special focus is on the family correspondence during and after their emigration to the United States and Palestine in 1934. Official documents, a biographical essay, a family photo album, articles on Max Kurrein and several family trees are included in the collection.

The Einstein Family Genealogy Collection consists of genealogical research on the family. It includes photocopies of German historical records pertaining to numerous family members, many family trees, genealogical research correspondence, and notes on the resided.

This collection consists primarily of the family photographs the Bierman, Bressler, Bretzfelder, Brett, Lieberman and Loeb families. It also includes a significant quantity of the papers of David M. Bressler and the Bretzfelder / Brett family, including correspondence and newspaper clippings. The collection offers a view of the domestic life of a prominent American Jewish family in the first half of the 20th Century.

The Ellis Family Collection consists of the papers of John and Eva Ellis and of many of their related family members. The collection has a particular focus on the education, marriage, and emigration of John (born Hans Elias) and Eva (née Steinitz), with further documentation of the couple's early lives and later professions. In addition, the collection holds a great deal of information on their extended families, with material on the related Elias, Steinitz/ Samuel, Fein, Goldschmidt, Eschwege, Mindus, and related families, including documentation of individual family members and the families in general and their histories. The collection includes extensive family and personal correspondence, official documents and correspondence, personal and professional writing, educational certificates, immigration documentation, photographs and photo albums, family trees and narratives of family history, and other documentation.

The Emil Herz Collection contains papers of Emil Herz's extended family, especially of members of the Grünewald, Oppenheim, and Steg families. Much of the collection consists of family correspondence. In addition there is a sermon, copies of pages of a prayer book, and a note and clipping related to the family genealogy.

This collection consists of papers of the family of Emil Mosbacher. Prominent are the personal papers and correspondence of Emil and Stephen Sigmund Mosbacher. In addition, the collection holds a number of family photographs and photo albums as well as genealogical information on members of the related Flack and other families.

The Enrique Lerdau Family Collection focuses on documentation of the lives of Fritz and Barbara (née Elkan) Lerdau and their children, including their early years, marriage, and emigration to Peru. In addition the collection provides material on the Elkan and Rée families and their members, and to a smaller extent on the Lerdau (formerly Levy) family, including some genealogical information. The history of the hops industry and of the company J.F.U. Scheibel is also mentioned among the documents of this collection. The collection includes an assortment of documents, including extensive correspondence; several memoirs; official, legal, educational, financial, and military documents; many photographs; and family writings including poems, notebooks, and eulogies.

This collection holds the papers of members of the Kahn and Loeb families, including Rita Kahn (née Loeb), Karl and Maria Anna Kahn and Emil and Johanna Loeb. The collection's focus is on the immigration of family members, with many official documents as well as educational and professional documents. Among the collection's papers will be found several passports along with other identification papers, letters of reference, educational certificates, ship's passenger lists, some personal correspondence and papers, biographical and genealogical notes, a newspaper clipping and other papers.

Most of the documents pertain to Erna Bonette, Fred Gustav and their son Henry Arthur Katz. The collection focuses on their lives in Germany and the United States as well as their emigration via Luxemburg and Portugal. It also holds materials pertaining to members of the extended Katz and Lyon families and their ancestors, including the Feith family. Also included is material about a Mikveh from the 15th century in Siegburg, Germany.

The Ernst Heumann Family Collection documents three generations of this family, including members of the Messer, van Gelder, Oppenheim, Haas, and related families. Much of the collection centers on how the businessman Ernst Heumann and his wife Hedi née Messer established themselves in the United States and built their family, although documentation on their early lives in Germany and their emigration is also present. Although the bulk of the collection consists of the family's extensive personal correspondence, official and personal documents are also a central part of the collection. The collection contains correspondence; official documents; educational documents; family writing including poems, essays and short stories; travel memorabilia; some immigration papers; legal documents; Ernst Heumann's business correspondence and papers; family trees; and other documentation.

The Ernst Pincus Collection contains papers and correspondence of the lawyer Ernst Pincus and his wife Käte (née Zorek). The collection also includes some papers and correspondence of their parents, family members, and friends, along with family photographs and genealogical information.

The correspondence, newspaper clippings, and official documents contained in this collection chronicle the impact of World War II on the life of Erwin Taenzer, an electrician and the son of a rabbi, and his extended family.

The Esther Milich Family Collection holds documents about the immigration of Esther Milich and her brother Nathan Berkowicz in 1939 and about other members of the Berkowicz and Milich families, including the fate of Berkowicz family members left behind in Europe. The collection also contains documentation on the restitution claims filed by Esther and her brother. This collection includes official, legal, and personal family correspondence; official and legal documents; personal family papers; and a few photographs and newspaper clippings.

The Ettinghausen-Oppenheimer Family Collection holds the papers of members of the Oppenheimer, Ettinghausen and related families. Much of the collection consists of a comprehensive assortment of birth and death certificates, last wills, military documents, school reports, marriage contracts, estate inventories for various family patriarchs, and other financial papers. Notable are two letters of protection (Schutzbriefe) for two family members.
