The collection contains materials pertaining to the life and work of Abraham Solomon (Salo) Weissman(n). Materials in this collection include official documents, correspondence, and photographs. Most of the materials pertain to everyday life in pre-war Germany, as well as the struggle to help people escape the country during the war.

The collection holds original documents pertaining to the personal, academic and professional life of Dr. Hermann Achtentuch. Also included are documents pertaining to his wife Paula née Kohn, and to their son, Herbert Achtentuch.

The Adler Family Collection holds materials regarding the lives of Thekla (née Grünebaum) and Leopold Adler and their children Bennie, Rose, Irma, and Berthold. The papers document their lives in Hintersteinau, Germany, the deaths of Leopold and Irma Adler, and the emigration of the remaining family members to New York. Included in the collection is a large amount of their correspondence, in addition to various family papers, including official documents, school records, immigration documentation, documentation relating to the careers of family members, and genealogical and historical research. Most of the collection consists of correspondence, but there are also folders with family papers such as wedding memorabilia, vaccination certificates, visiting cards, telegrams, a notebook, a family tree for one branch of the family and a clipping on Selig Adler.

The Adolf Leschnitzer Collection documents the life and professional activities of Adolf Leschnitzer, researcher, historian, and teacher. The collection includes brochures, booklets, clippings, correspondence, financial, vital, and immigration documents, minutes, notes, photographs, printed materials, and writings, by Adolf Leschnitzer as well as other authors. Additionally, there are materials dealing with other members of the Leschnitzer family, namely his wife, Maria Leschnitzer, née Bratz, her mother, Elly Bratz, née Michael, Adolf and Maria Leschnitzers' son, Michael Lesch, also known as Michael Leschnitzer, and Adolf and Albertt Frank.

This collection includes personal and official documents of the Adolf Schwersenz family, including his professional work as a cantor, mainly during his time in Berlin. It contains sheet music used by Adolf Schwersenz, as well as newspaper clippings and letters.

The Alfred and Elisabeth Mayer Family largely centers on the emigration from Germany of the extended members of this family as well as documentation of Alfred and Elisabeth Mayer and information on the family's genealogy and individual experiences. The collection includes a large quantity of family correspondence; family trees; articles; official, military, and educational documents; some financial and legal documentation and correspondence; and photographs.

This collection documents the life and work of the flute player Alfred Lichtenstein. Contained in this collection are papers relating to his professional life, including recordings, programs, photographs, flyers, and clippings concerning his public performances, and also an extensive amount of music scores used by him. His personal life is reflected in personal correspondence, including letters exchanged with other family members and photographs as well as identification and immigration papers. Some papers of his family members, including his wives, daughter, and father, will also be found here as well as restitution correspondence.

The Altschuler and Weinberger Families Collection includes materials related to the history of these families prior to World War II as well as materials that shed light on the fate of various members of the Altschuler and Weinberger families during the Holocaust. The collection consists of correspondence, printed materials, documents, photographs, genealogical materials such as charts and family trees, stammbuch (most likely belonging to Helen Altschuler), and a handwritten cookbook.

This collection contains the correspondence and personal papers of Anne Fischer. The bulk of the material consists of nearly five decades of continuous correspondence between Anne Fischer and Hermann Simon. In addition, there is a very small amount of official documents of family members and a few photographs.

The Aron Rauner Family Collection documents the life of this businessman and his family, although his story is the most prominent of the collection. The papers include official documents and certificates as well as notes, poems, narratives, correspondence and photographic material.

This collection is composed of the papers of Arthur Bluhm, chief rabbi of Krefeld, Germany between 1928 and 1938, and rabbi of Temple B'nai Israel in Amarillo, Texas. It documents his professional life and also holds records related to the Krefeld Jewish Community and the Jews in Westphalia. In addition, the collection contains the papers of Abraham Sutro, chief rabbi of Westphalia from 1815-1869.

This collection contains the archival papers of Arthur Rath. Most of it consists of correspondence with friends and family members. Primary topics of the collection are Arthur's life in Switzerland towards the end of World War II and the decades immediately after, correspondence with friends who were also Jewish refugees from Germany after the war, and Arthur Rath's life decisions following the displacement of his family during the war.

This collection contains the papers of the Aschkenazy Family as well as those of Erich Willdorff, who was married to Elfriede (Effy) Aschkenazy. The Barbara and Peter Rothholz Family Collection contains documents and photographs of the families of Peter Rothholz and his wife, Barbara Peters Rothholz (originally Baerbel Gruenpeter), along with papers of the extended family.

The Bauer-Gross Family collection consists of family papers, various documents, and photographs. Prominent topics are emigration from Germany, the family history, and Meta Bauer. The collection comprises correspondence, immigration papers, an academic confirmation, newspapers, a report, a manuscript, medical documents, identification documents, military papers, a birth certificate, an award certificate, obituaries, and a prenuptial agreement.

This collection contains family trees, as well as photocopies of emigration documents, vital records, correspondence, photographs, and other materials pertaining to the whole Bendix family and some of their members.

The Bernard Eckstein Addenda Collection focuses on providing documentation of the life of the chemist Bernard Eckstein, especially his early life in Ulm, Germany, his education in England and the United States, and his military service during World War II. Documentation of the lives of his parents, brother, and other family members are also present. The collection includes official and personal documents, scrapbooks, family correspondence, biographical and autobiographical narratives, photographs, military documents, newspaper clippings, and other documents.

The collection holds papers, photographs, documents and correspondence pertaining to four generations of the Altmann family. Topics of the collection are, among others, the lives of the family members in Austria-Hungary, in pre-war Austria, in the emigration process and in the United States. Part of the material focuses on the family’s genealogy. The collection comprises correspondence, memoirs, personal and official papers, family photographs, postcards and some notes.

This collection documents the family of Bernhard Wolff, extending back to his earliest known ancestor in 1646 through his grandchildren born in the 1970s. Born in Esens (Ostfriesland, Germany), Bernhard escaped National Socialist persecution by emigrating to Porto Alegre, Brazil in 1938, followed shortly thereafter by his wife Fanny née Mitau. His six siblings and mother Flora née Oppenheimer also emigrated, eventually settling in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, or the U.S. The collection contains correspondence, family trees, vital records, official documents, and photographs of family and Jewish historical sites. Also included are a three-volume family chronicle and a two-volume collection of materials on the Jewish community of Esens (Ostfriesland) created by Bernhard Wolff. A unique highlight of the collection is the postcard album belonging to Fanny’s mother Ida Mitau née Jacobsohn, who was not able to escape Germany and perished in Theresienstadt.

This collection contains papers related to the lives of individuals belonging to the Berwin and Neisser families. The papers include documents related to the business operations of the Guttman company. as well as documents related to the emigration of the Berwin and Neisser families to Israel and the United States. This collection contains personal papers of Blanka Bardach née Falk (1910-2005). Born in Rogatica (today Bosnia and Herzegovina), Blanka became a dressmaker in Vienna and immigrated to the United States, settling in New York City. Materials include education records, letters of recommendation and certificates from employers, official documents issued from Austrian and U.S. authorities related to immigration, and a few financial records.

This collection primarily includes documents related to the Blum family’s immigration to the United States from Vienna, Austria. The materials include correspondence, passports, emigration records, a marriage certificate, a U.S. Army Safe Conduct pass, identity cards, employment records, school report cards, and university enrollment records.

This collection holds the papers of members of the Bär and Oppenheimer families from Bruchsal, Germany. It documents the history of the two families as well as the Bär leather distribution company and Oppenheimer woolens factory. The Brüder Böhm Company Collection includes materials documenting the operations of the company that was involved in the production of hats and had plants in Vienna, Austria and Neutitschein, Czechoslovakia (now Nový Jicín, Czech Republic). There is also a small amount of personal materials pertaining to the lives of the owners of the company, the brothers Joseph and Victor Böhm and their cousin Richard Böhm, as well as some other members of the Böhm family.

This collection contains material on the related Kassel and Bruch (Bruck) families as well as on the immigration experiences of Fritz Kassel. Included among the collection are correspondence, manuscripts, clippings, notes, family trees, and a few publications.

The Buchheim Jonas Family Collection holds documentation of various branches of the Jonas family of Waldbreitbach, Germany, especially the descendants of Louis Jonas and Ella Buchheim, and tells of their emigration from Germany. In addition, it documents aspects of the life of Meier Buchheim of Dauborn, Germany, especially his attempt to emigrate and later death. The collection includes many family photographs, family trees, correspondence, official documents, material on the village of Waldbreitbach, and other documentation.

The Carola S. Trier collection consists of the personal documents of Carola S. Trier. The bulk of the collection consists of her memoirs, covering a period from 193 to 1942. The collection also includes Carola S. Trier's personal and official correspondence and personal documents, as well as notes and notebooks by her father, Eduard Strauss. Also included clippings, mostly from The New York Times and Aufbau.
