The collection holds papers, photographs, documents and correspondence pertaining to four generations of the Altmann family. Topics of the collection are, among others, the lives of the family members in Austria-Hungary, in pre-war Austria, in the emigration process and in the United States. This collection holds the papers of members of the Bär and Oppenheimer families from Bruchsal, Germany. It documents the history of the two families as well as the Bär leather distribution company and Oppenheimer woolens factory. The Brüder Böhm Company Collection includes materials documenting the operations of the company that was involved in the production of hats and had plants in Vienna, Austria and Neutitschein, Czechoslovakia (now Nový Jicín, Czech Republic). There is also a small amount of personal materials pertaining to the lives of the owners of the company, the brothers Joseph and Victor Böhm and their cousin Richard Böhm, as well as some other members of the Böhm family.

The Carola Levy Collection holds the papers of Carola Levy Kaufmann as well as of the Levy and Feldheim families and related families. The collection consists of correspondence, article manuscripts, copies of family members' documents and newspaper clippings, and a friendship book.

The Carola S. Trier collection consists of the personal documents of Carola S. Trier. The bulk of the collection consists of her memoirs, covering a period from 193 to 1942. The collection also includes Carola S. Trier's personal and official correspondence and personal documents, as well as notes and notebooks by her father, Eduard Strauss. Also included clippings, mostly from The New York Times and Aufbau.

The Denise Wilde Family Collection holds the papers of members of the Wilde and Szymanski families, with much of the material centering on the life of dentist Herbert Wilde. The collection largely focuses on the immigration of the Wilde family, the education and Belgian dental practice of Herbert Wilde, and the restitution claims of several family members. The collection consists of official and educational documents, correspondence, photographs and family trees.

This collection contains the papers of the Deutsch-Edel family, originally from Vienna, and in particular the family of Georg and Sabina Deutsch and their children. The bulk of the collection – dating 1940 to 1990 -- is correspondence, but there are also large sections of educational and immigration records, as well as memoirs documenting the history of the family authored by George Deutsch. The collection documents the lives of family members in Vienna, including their educational and professional lives, up to the time of the Nazi annexation of Austria and the flight of different members of the family to England and the United States. The Edgar Trier Collection documents Edgar Trier’s military career, first as a member of the French Foreign Legion and then as a soldier in the Unites States Army. The collection consists of personal materials as well as Army related materials such as personal correspondence, memoirs, military orders and reports, certificates, photographs, and clippings.

The Eliane and Roger Herz-Fischler Family collection contains the papers of their ancestors, including members of the Holländer, Sommer, Fischler (formerly Fischleiber or Fischleber), Furcht, Katzenstein and other related families. The collection focuses on documentation of their lives in Germany and the emigration of some family members and consists of official documents such as birth, death, and naturalization certificates, photographs, correspondence, educational papers, some genealogical notes, and a painting.

The Elisabeth Lunau Collection documents Elisabeth Lunau’s personal life and her research on her father, Ludwig Marum, a Minister in the Weimer Republic and a prominent figure in the Socialist movement; the collection also documents Elisabeth Lunau’s research on her family’s genealogy. The collection consists of correspondence, vital-, immigration-, and financial documents, photographs, lists, genealogical tables, manuscripts, notes, and printed materials.

The Ellis Family Collection consists of the papers of John and Eva Ellis and of many of their related family members. The collection has a particular focus on the education, marriage, and emigration of John (born Hans Elias) and Eva (née Steinitz), with further documentation of the couple's early lives and later professions. In addition, the collection holds a great deal of information on their extended families, with material on the related Elias, Steinitz/ Samuel, Fein, Goldschmidt, Eschwege, Mindus, and related families, including documentation of individual family members and the families in general and their histories. The collection includes extensive family and personal correspondence, official documents and correspondence, personal and professional writing, educational certificates, immigration documentation, photographs and photo albums, family trees and narratives of family history, and other documentation.

This collection holds the papers of members of the Kahn and Loeb families, including Rita Kahn (née Loeb), Karl and Maria Anna Kahn and Emil and Johanna Loeb. The collection's focus is on the immigration of family members, with many official documents as well as educational and professional documents. Among the collection's papers will be found several passports along with other identification papers, letters of reference, educational certificates, ship's passenger lists, some personal correspondence and papers, biographical and genealogical notes, a newspaper clipping and other papers.

The Erna Maier Family Collection documents the life and the education of Erna Maier. The collection primarily consists of letters written to Erna Maier by her parents. The correspondence between Erna, Laura and Heinrich Maier shows their close relationship. Postcards, daily calendars, poetry and a recipe collection can be found in the collection as well. Other documents includes official documents of Erna Maier and her family, as well as school materials, photos and notes.

Ernest Goodman (born Ernst Gutmann) was a button and accessories salesman who immigrated to the United States in 1936. The collection contains correspondence and official papers belonging to him and his second wife, Carole Goodman née Vad. The collection documents Ernest’s unsuccessful attempts to bring his parents to the United States between 1936-1941 and his and Carole’s applications for restitution for themselves and their parents. A large collection of family photographs, a photo album, and a family tree are also part of the collection.

The Ernst Fuerth Collection primarily documents the life of this businessman after he had immigrated to France as well as providing information on the lives of his daughter and her family in the United States. Much of the collection consists of correspondence, but there are also official documents used during immigration and a diary.

The Ernst Heumann Family Collection documents three generations of this family, including members of the Messer, van Gelder, Oppenheim, Haas, and related families. Much of the collection centers on how the businessman Ernst Heumann and his wife Hedi née Messer established themselves in the United States and built their family, although documentation on their early lives in Germany and their emigration is also present. Although the bulk of the collection consists of the family's extensive personal correspondence, official and personal documents are also a central part of the collection. The collection contains correspondence; official documents; educational documents; family writing including poems, essays and short stories; travel memorabilia; some immigration papers; legal documents; Ernst Heumann's business correspondence and papers; family trees; and other documentation.

The Ernst Pincus Collection contains papers and correspondence of the lawyer Ernst Pincus and his wife Käte (née Zorek). The collection also includes some papers and correspondence of their parents, family members, and friends, along with family photographs and genealogical information.

This collection contains the papers of the Ettinger family originally of Fulda, Germany, and related families. Materials include personal papers, official and legal papers, photographs, and some personal correspondence and ephemera. The collection reflects the experience of some family members in internment and forced labor camps in France, their later immigration to the United States, and their restitution claims. The photographs are either formal portraits or depict leisure activities from the late 19th century through the 1930s.

The Eugen Kullmann Estate Collection contains documentation of the professional life and personal connections of the philosophy and religion professor and scholar Eugen Kullman. Much of the collection is made up of his correspondence from others, but there are also many notes related to his teaching and research along with professional and official documents. Notes and papers of the philosopher Karl Joël also form a significant portion of this collection. The collection includes notes such as research and lecture notes as well as notebooks; extensive correspondence from others, including family, friends, and colleagues to Eugen Kullmann; and official, professional, and personal documents.

The Ferdinand and Emmy Lichter Family collection holds documents and personal as well as official correspondence of family members, friends, acquaintances, and public and private institutions. Prominent topics include refuge and refugee relief for the Lichters and the communication between family members describing their health, environment etc. in various refugee camps. The collection comprises vital documents, official certificates, emigration papers, correspondence, postcards, and some notes.

The Flora Morstadt Collection documents the life of Flora Morstadt and her family mainly through the years 1938-1944. The bulk of the collection is comprised of letters from Flora Morstadt to her family during World War II. Other materials include documents relating to emigration, post-war identification cards, and Flora Morstadt’s recipe book.

This collection centers on the experiences of Florence Marx Ross during a trip to Belgium, France and Germany from July 1913-November 1914, documented in her frequent correspondence to her family, daily diary entries, and newspaper clippings. In addition, the collection holds a number of postcards, some photographs and publications related to the beginning of World War I in Belgium.

The Fritz Mauthner Addenda Collection largely consists of correspondence to and from Fritz Mauthner and its translation. Also included are family and personal papers, transcriptions of a diary, notebooks and articles.

The collection contains the office files of Georg Iggers, a renowned historian and social activist. His fields of expertise included historiography and modern European history. The collection is arranged into four series and two subseries. Materials in this collection include a large amount of correspondence, notes, drafts of writings, and some personal documents. The correspondence includes letters from renowned historians and scholars.

The collection holds the professional and private documents of George Harry Asher. The emphasis is on correspondence, writings and official papers. Advertising proofs reflect Asher's work and career. Prominent among the material is an autobiographical sketch and correspondence between Asher and his mother, shortly before her deportation in 1941. The collection also holds material, such as correspondence, manuscripts and articles about Oskar Maria Graf, a close friend to Asher.

The bulk of this collection consists of genealogical research materials about George Vladar's maternal side, the Jewish families Biheller from Cieszyn (Teschen), Poland and Perl/ Tugenthat from Bielsko-Biala (Poland), and on his paternal side, the non-Jewish Hungarian family Vladar and the non- Jewish Austrian Family Bittermann (various spellings) and Muehler (various spellings). The collection consists of numerous family trees, birth and death certificates, school reports, and a correspondence of Vladar's Grandparents Joseph Biheller and Marie, née Perl.
