The collection contains materials pertaining to the life and work of Abraham Solomon (Salo) Weissman(n). Materials in this collection include official documents, correspondence, and photographs. Most of the materials pertain to everyday life in pre-war Germany, as well as the struggle to help people escape the country during the war.

This collection contains materials of genealogical research from six different families. They include: genealogical information, photographs, birth, death and naturalization records, family sheets listing basic biographical information as well as census records and passenger manifests.

This collection primarily includes documents related to the Blum family’s immigration to the United States from Vienna, Austria. The Ernst Heumann Family Collection documents three generations of this family, including members of the Messer, van Gelder, Oppenheim, Haas, and related families. Much of the collection centers on how the businessman Ernst Heumann and his wife Hedi née Messer established themselves in the United States and built their family, although documentation on their early lives in Germany and their emigration is also present. Although the bulk of the collection consists of the family's extensive personal correspondence, official and personal documents are also a central part of the collection. The collection contains correspondence; official documents; educational documents; family writing including poems, essays and short stories; travel memorabilia; some immigration papers; legal documents; Ernst Heumann's business correspondence and papers; family trees; and other documentation.

This collection contains the genealogical research of Ernst Oppenheim, and includes his investigations into the Oppenheim, Pasch, Breit, Altschul, Sirkis and Jaffe families. Included are his extensive correspondence, family trees and copies of original documentation, as well as interview transcripts and notes.

This collection documents the lives of Fanny, Max and Laura Fischer and their family members. It contains the siblings' official documents, notebooks and a cookbook as well as photographs of family members and a family history.

The bulk of this collection consists of genealogical research materials about George Vladar's maternal side, the Jewish families Biheller from Cieszyn (Teschen), Poland and Perl/ Tugenthat from Bielsko-Biala (Poland), and on his paternal side, the non-Jewish Hungarian family Vladar and the non- Jewish Austrian Family Bittermann (various spellings) and Muehler (various spellings). The collection consists of numerous family trees, birth and death certificates, school reports, and a correspondence of Vladar's Grandparents Joseph Biheller and Marie, née Perl.

The Gertrud Kurth Collection consists of material related to Gertrud Kurth and her family members. This collection has over 5 linear feet, and includes personal documents, correspondence and manuscripts. The last 3 linear feet of the collection contain photographs, photograph negatives and slides.

This collection comprises letters, official documents, and photographs that pertain to the lives of members of the Gettinger family, specifically the brothers Isadore (Isidor) and Israel, as they attempted to emigrate from Austria amid the rise of the German Reich and the implications thereafter.

The collection holds papers, photographs, notes and documents pertaining to three generations of the Neumann family.

The Harriet Hermine Spielberg Collection documents the early life of Harriet Spielberg (née Schottländer, widowed Schwarz). Most of the collection includes official documents; certificates; testimonials; passports and other personal items like photographs; and two notebooks with handwritten recipes and comments. It also contains correspondence and reports provided by her son, Eric (Erik) Schwarz.

This highly diverse collection contains material of various sources, times, and genres, from Germany, Austria, Eastern Europe and Argentina. The documents included range from correspondence, such as letters, postcards or telegrams, to emigration documents, such as ship lists and permits, to vital records, such as family registers, various certificates and awards, to a number of small publications, such as brochures, programs and clippings. There is also a number of Jewish devotionals, including Yahrzeit calendars, religious graphics and prayer manuals, as well as some ephemera.

The Hirschberg-Goldmann Family Addenda holds documentation on the lives and emigration of Harry and Leonor Harter, originally of Breslau. It additionally contains research, conducted by their son, into the history and genealogy of the Hirschberg and Goldmann families and their relations, as well as into the fate of his maternal grandparents, Siegfried and Käthe Goldmann. The collection includes material about the Breslau Jewish community, especially about its Storch synagogue and the Cosel cemetery (Legnica Street cemetery). The collection contains many copies of historical documents, extensive correspondence, photographs and a photo album, copies of articles related to the research of the collection, and some family trees.

The collection traces the history of the Kaiser family and the lives of its members over the course of the 20th century through correspondence, documents, writings, family history information, and photographs.

The Leo Glueckselig Collection includes materials pertaining to Leo Glueckselig and other members of the Glueckselig family and consists mostly of personal correspondence, photographs, and documents, whereas other document types such as printed materials, manuscripts, art works, and a cookbook constitute a smaller part of the collection.

This collection contains personal and official papers of the Blau, Mahl, and Goldberg families of Vienna, Austria. The bulk of the records stems from the 1930s through the 1940s and relates to the immediate family of Lucie Blau (1932-2010) and to her aunt Etta Mahl née Stern and uncle Max Mahl. Materials include correspondence, vital records, immigration records, education and employment records, business records, arrangements for funerals and gravestones, and a few photographs and slides. Limited documentation of restitution efforts is also included.

The Otto Mainzer collection documents the life and professional activities of Otto Mainzer, lawyer, writer, and financial consultant; the collection also sheds light on the life of Otto Mainzer’s wife, Ilse Wunsch, a musician and a teacher. The collection includes correspondence, financial, vital, immigration, and legal documents, notes, photographs, printed materials, and writings, by Otto Mainzer and Ilse Wunsch as well as a small number of manuscripts by other authors. The collection is divided into two distinct sections, one pertaining to Otto Mainzer and the other to Ilse Wunsch.

This collection documents the experiences of the Eisen and Pepper (formerly Pieprzynski) families from the turn of the 20th century to the 1950s. The papers mainly concern Emma Eisen née Lowenthal, Benno Eisen, Dora Pepper née Eisen, and Saul Pepper. Included are vital records, immigration and naturalization records, restitution papers, correspondence, photographs, a family tree, and miscellaneous items such as sheet music, an address book, and memorabilia from Berlin. Also included are a few posters from Baruch Sperber, a music teacher and composer related to the Eisen family.

The Renate Bridenthal Family Collection primarily documents the lives and especially the emigration experiences of Renate Bridenthal's parents, Elchunon and Irene Rubin. Papers of Irene Rubin are prominent in the collection and include restitution correspondence and her writing. Documents related to Renate and her brother Harribald's early lives and emigration is are also present. The collection consists of extensive personal and restitution correspondence, official documents, newspaper clippings regarding Irene Rubin's death, drafts of her writing, and three albums.

The Rudolf and Victoria Pordes Collection primarily comprises material on the life and work of the furrier and artist Rudolf Pordes. Included is documentation of his immigration from Vienna through Belgium and France to the United States. Material on his professional work is also prevalent. This collection contains correspondence, official papers and certificates, notes, publications, photographs and legal documents.

The Salomons-Fox family collection documents the lives of various family members of the extended Salomons-Fox family. Topics of the collection are the education; the emigration or attempted emigration to the United States, the establishment of a new life in America; and the professional career of the individuals represented in the collection. An extensive amount of the collection focusses on the artistic career and life of Dave Fox. Also included are papers pertaining to the circus artist and actor, Jackie (Leo) Gerlich, who appeared in the 1939 movie “The Wizard of Oz."

This collection consists mainly of materials related to the restitution claims of the Weinberger family members who owned a group of grocery stores in Berlin from the early 1920s until its forced closure in 1936. These materials include correspondence, legal papers, inventories, and financial records. Also included are some personal papers of Adolf Weinberger as well as speeches and photographs from a memorial ceremony.

The Stanton Family Collection contains documents, correspondence, and photographs representing several centuries of Henry Stanton’s German-Jewish ancestors from the Sobernheim, Hinrichsen, Bütow, Bendix, Reiche, Abraham, Goldschmidt, Bleichröder, and Mond families. Family histories by Stanton based upon these materials are also included.

This collection contains the personal papers of physician Heinrich Toczek (1898-1978), the social worker Hanna-Herta Toczek née Lewin (1900-1977), and their son Peter, reflecting their life in Berlin, Germany and their immigration to the U.S. in 1938. Materials include vital records, military records from World War I, education records, official correspondence, emigration papers, and personal correspondence with relatives who stayed behind in Germany and others who fled to Shanghai.

The Werner Cohn Collection contains papers of members of the Cohn and related families. Documentation especially focuses on the family's experiences during the 1930s-1940s and the compensation for their losses during this period. The collection encompasses personal correspondence and papers, including official documents of family members, photographs, notes and notebooks, and a few newspaper clippings and other articles. About half the collection consists of restitution correspondence and documentation.

This collection documents the personal lives of Werner Weinberg’s immediate family and his in-laws, Hans and Rosa Halberstadt, as well Weinberg’s efforts to preserve the memory of the German Jews and the Jews of his hometown Rheda in particular as well as a limited amount of materials documenting his professional activities as a writer.
