This collection depicts the life and work of the author Georg Hermann. The main focus of this collection is his literary estate, and the collection contains extensive manuscripts of both his fiction and non-fiction writings, including novels, shorter fiction, essays, and articles. In addition, it also holds correspondence, clippings, photos, official documents and papers, writings by others about Georg Hermann and his work, and a few photos.

The collection contains the office files of Georg Iggers, a renowned historian and social activist. His fields of expertise included historiography and modern European history. The collection is arranged into four series and two subseries. Materials in this collection include a large amount of correspondence, notes, drafts of writings, and some personal documents. The correspondence includes letters from renowned historians and scholars.

Georg Landauer was born November 17, 1895 in Cologne, Germany and died February 5, 1954 in New York. He studied law and obtained his degree in 1923. An ardent Zionist, he worked in various capacities, always a very active figure in public and political life in Jerusalem and later in the State of Israel. The collection contains political writings and research notes by Georg Landauer, correspondence, newspaper clippings, and photographs.

This collection contains documents and artifacts belonging to George and Hildegard Brandes Lewin and their family members. In addition to vital records, correspondence and photographs, there are handwritten music manuscripts and pencil drawings.

The collection holds the professional and private documents of George Harry Asher. The emphasis is on correspondence, writings and official papers. Advertising proofs reflect Asher's work and career. Prominent among the material is an autobiographical sketch and correspondence between Asher and his mother, shortly before her deportation in 1941. The collection also holds material, such as correspondence, manuscripts and articles about Oskar Maria Graf, a close friend to Asher.

This collection documents the life and career of the historian George L. Mosse. It contains material focusing on his work, including papers relating to his writings and lectures, as well as material dealing with his family. In addition, there is extensive correspondence between Mosse and his family, colleagues and friends, publishing companies, universities and other educational institutions, former students, and lawyers concerning restitution of Mosse family property lost after the family fled Nazi persecution. The collection also contains books, videocassettes and film reels, objects, newspaper clippings, and photographs.

The collection contains correspondence between George Simon Spir, serving in the Franco-Prussian War, and his family in Magdeburg. Included are eight field post letters, 105 letters, and 1 telegram from Spir to his family and 25 letters to Spir from family and friends. The second folder also contains a small notebook pertaining to Spir's service. The third folder contains a photocopy of a letter pertaining to George Simon Spir's grandfather Geoffroi Simon Spire's receipt of the Décoration du Lys; and family tree of the ancestors of George Simon Spir's father Albert Spir.

The bulk of this collection consists of genealogical research materials about George Vladar's maternal side, the Jewish families Biheller from Cieszyn (Teschen), Poland and Perl/ Tugenthat from Bielsko-Biala (Poland), and on his paternal side, the non-Jewish Hungarian family Vladar and the non- Jewish Austrian Family Bittermann (various spellings) and Muehler (various spellings). The collection consists of numerous family trees, birth and death certificates, school reports, and a correspondence of Vladar's Grandparents Joseph Biheller and Marie, née Perl.

This collection documents the history of the Weiss family with a focus on Gerald Weiss’ parents Jacob and Selma Weiss née Falk and their siblings. Jacob (alternatively Köbes) Weiss (1883-1965) was born the second of nine children to the cattle dealer Albert Weiss and his wife Mathilde Amalie née Michel. As a young man, he lived in Cologne and started a bed linen manufacturing business, S & J Weiss, with his brother Siegmund. As the situation for Jews in Germany worsened in the 1930s, he and Siegmund smuggled money from the business to banks in Holland to aid in the Weiss family’s emigration. Jacob Weiss emigrated with his wife and children in 1939 and settled in New York. This collection contains family trees, family correspondence, translations of family correspondence, vital records, immigration and naturalization records, correspondence and legal documents concerning restitution claims, correspondence and legal documents concerning the estate of Hermann and Carolina Michel née Frank, and correspondence and photographs concerning family gravesites and the restoration of a Jewish cemetery.

About half of this collection covers the genealogy of the Braunthal family in France, Austria, Poland, the Ukraine, and the United States as documented by Gerard Braunthal. The other half is devoted the restitution claims made by Frieda Silbermann (later Frances Selby), one of the Braunthal family members. Materials include genealogical tables, vital documents, correspondence, legal documents, and financial records.

The personal papers of the professor for medieval history Gerard E. Caspary consist mainly of a typescript “From the edge of the Holocaust: Letters from my mother and grandmother 1940-1943”, composed by Caspary between 2005-2006 and the original letters on which it is based. Also included are photographs and additional family research documents.

By and large the Gerard Field Family Collection consists of materials pertaining to Anne Prower, neé Hanau with materials dealing with other family members constituting just a fraction of the collection. Included in the collection are clippings, correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, slides, printed materials and 8 mm films. The larger segment of the collection consists of media materials, such as photographs, slides, and 8 mm films.

The Gerda Dittmann Collection includes personal and business materials pertaining to the Dittmann and Ottensooser families and consists of correspondence, personal, business, and legal documents, clippings, poetry, and notebooks.

The collection contains the correspondence between the writer and artist Rafaello (Lello) Busoni and the violinist Gerhard Meyer-Sichting from 1955 until Busoni’s death in 1962. Also included are diary entries; drawings; poems; and photographs. The majority of the materials relate to the creative and scholarly work of the two artists, as well as their familial life and their personal thoughts or opinions about art exhibitions, theater, and opera visits.

This collection holds the papers of Gertrud and Friedrich Hermann. The majority of the material found here documents Friedrich Hermann's education and his professional career as a lawyer, although material concerning his wife Gertrud and other members of the family is also present. The collection contains a typescript, correspondence, official documents, and clippings.

The Gertrud Mainzer Family Collection documents the personal and professional life of Holocaust survivor, attorney, and New York Family Court judge Gertrud Mainzer. It also includes materials about her family and her ancestors, including her husband, attorney Richard Mainzer, and her father, noted legal scholar Hugo Sinzheimer.

This collection contains family and business papers pertaining to the ancestors of Gertrude Gutman in the Levi, Gutmann, and Adler families of Württemberg, who were involved in the watchmaking and textile trades.

This collection documents the family history and restitution claims of Gertrude Guckenheimer née Goldschmidt (1916-2003) and her husband Ludwig Guckenheimer (1911-1991). Half of the collection relates to the family histories and family businesses of Gertrude and Ludwig, while the other half documents the restitution claims brought by them and their family members. Included are family trees, birth, marriage, and death certificates, inheritance documents, business contracts, and personal and business correspondence, bank records, official and legal documents concerning restitution claims, and a few photographs. The history of the family businesses Herz Hachenburger Sohn and Max Baer Söhne are well documented in contracts and correspondence.

The collection contains autograph letters collected by Gertrude Lobbenberg, including letters written and signed by Berthold Auerbach, Béla Bartók, Ludwig Börne, Georg Morris Cohen Brandes, Heinrich Heine, Julius Korngold, Ferdinand Lasalle, Max Liebermann, Rosa Luxemburg, Arthur Schnitzler, and Stefan Zweig.

The Gertrude S. Goldhaber Collection, which forms part of the larger Maurice and Gertrude Goldhaber Collection, consists of mainly professional papers of nuclear physicist Dr. Gertrude Scharff Goldhaber. The collection is comprised of professional correspondence, research files, materials related to conferences and lectures, clippings and article reprints, research notes, transparencies, photographs, glass slides, manuscripts and publications, and materials related to various organizations with which Dr. Goldhaber was involved. There are also some personal documents, including correspondence, calendars and diaries, and educational records.

This collection comprises letters, official documents, and photographs that pertain to the lives of members of the Gettinger family, specifically the brothers Isadore (Isidor) and Israel, as they attempted to emigrate from Austria amid the rise of the German Reich and the implications thereafter.

This collection contains several letters written by Meyerbeer, 3 single-page music manuscripts, a small number of personal and family papers (some original, some photocopied), and a few short manuscripts about Meyerbeer.

The Gisela A. Weil Family Collection holds papers of several branches of the family. Prominently featured are papers of members of the Meyer, Weil, Warburg and Melchior families. These papers provide glimpses into family members' lives along with some biographical details on them. The collection includes correspondence; many articles and clippings; official papers; educational certificates; family narratives and a few family trees and photographs.

This collection documents the life and accomplishments of the Goldmark family, whose most famous members were the two composers Carl Goldmark (1830-1915), who embraced Viennese musical life with colleagues such as Brahms, Liszt, Wagner and Rubinstein, and his nephew Rubin Goldmark (1872-1936), who has been honored for his services to American music, as a prolific composer, and composition department chair at (amongst others) the newly created Juilliard School of Music. The collection contains a large amount of correspondence, but also includes newspaper clippings, musical journal articles, concert programmes and notes, a libretto, a citizenship certificate, obituaries, eulogies and photographs.

The Grace Polk family collection contains materials related to the Polk (formerly Pollak) family, including Julius and Katharina Sofer, their daughter Felicitas and Lilia and their respective families, the Orenstein Family as well as information about Harry Polk's grandfather, Paul Lichtenstadt. The bulk consists of private and official correspondence. In addition, there are official papers concerning immigration matters of the Polks, Sofers, Orensteins and others, including affidavits, and official correspondence.

This collection contains additional papers of the Grace Polk Family, notably Harry and Elizabeth Polk and Julius Sofer. Much of the collection consists of family photographs, but also includes various identification, official and educational documentation as well as statements from employers, family correspondence, notes and an essay.

The Papers of Graenum Berger (1908-1999) document Berger's involvement with Ethiopian Jewry and his efforts to bring about their rescue from Ethiopia through his organization, the American Association for Ethiopian Jews (AAEJ). The Papers also contain materials regarding Berger's other interests-his writings, his travels throughout the world, his community affiliations, his career as a Jewish social work executive, his commitment to Jewish causes, and his commitment to Israel. Also included are personal and biographical materials from his many long-term friendships and associations; correspondence, minutes, reports, clippings, manuscripts, research materials, journal articles, photographs, and publications.

This collection documents the efforts of Greta Rapp to have Marie Louise Hensel recognized by Yad Vashem for her efforts to rescue the Jewish lawyer Hermann Reis and his family in 1942. Although the rescue attempt failed, Hensel was added to Yad Vashem’s list of the Righteous Among The Nations. Materials include correspondence, clippings, notes, a poem, a copy of the certificate awarded by Yad Vashem, and photographs of the medal of honor they awarded and the tree that was planted in honor of Marie Louise Hensel.

The Grossman Family Collection holds papers on several members of the family, most prominently Erika Busse Grossmann and Hans Grossmann, but also includes articles by Walter Grossmann and a family tree. Included are Erika Busse Grossmann's official, educational and restitution papers and documentation of Hans Grossmann's legal practice.
