Biographical / Historical
Born in Luga in 1908. Lived in Riga until World War II. Served in the Red Army. Director of the State Children's Theater in Riga. Settled in Israel in 1966. Archivist of the Sholem Aleichem House in Tel Aviv. Started writing children's plays in 1926. Also wrote stories and feuilletons, which appeared in book form and in periodicals--both in Yiddish and Russian. Translated many of Sholem Aleichem's stories into Russian. Compiled index to Sholem Aleichem's letters. Died in Israel before 1992.
