Biographical / Historical
Mutual aid society founded in New York on November 30, 1923. Incorporated in 1932. Provided sick and burial benefits, medical services, and relief aid to needy members. Established endowment fund for family of deceased member. Distributed monetary holiday gifts to members. Covered funeral expenses. Maintained cemetery plots. Donated to various Jewish institutions, including Pioneer Women Na'Amat USA and the Jewish National Fund. Functioned as a burial society. Society used the Wellwood, Beth David, and Mt. Judah cemeteries in Long Island and Queens, NY.
