Documents Relating to Grade's Early Period, 1941-1943
Scope and Contents
This series includes literary materials spanning Grade’s pre-war poetry publications, his literary work during his itinerant years as a refugee in the Soviet Union, and finally his post-war work in Poland and France. The series mostly contains Grade’s early poetic work, translations of his poems into various languages, personal notebooks filled with notes about the war, and identification cards. Of particular note are two literary discoveries, previously unknown and unpublished original dramatic works: Di toyte kenen nisht oyfshteyn, and Khurbn.
