Series I: Grubère, Abe, 1930-1960


Scope and Contents

This series includes designs by Abe Grubère and other materials related to his professional and business activities. The bulk of the materials in this series are designs created by Abe Grubère at various fashion studios, either under his name or under the name of the fashion studio. Designs of blouses, coats, skirts, and suits are all represented here. Some sketches of the designs are drafts, whereas the majority of the sketches are finished designs. Sketches found in this series are made in pencil, ink, and watercolours. Other materials found in this series include account books, certificates, correspondence, patterns, patents, photographs, student papers from the Textile High School, and swatches.
