Berthold Auerbach Collection
Scope and Content Note
This collection contains original, handwritten letters and notes by Auerbach, as well as clippings and articles about Auerbach.
Folder one consists of several short handwritten letters and notes, as well as their typed transcriptions, by Auerbach to various recipients. Folder two contains 42 original letters from Auerbach to Karl Gruber. Jeff Chases's manuscript Barefoot Citizens: Berthold Auerbach's Heimatroman and German Nationality comprises folder three, and folder four similarly contains various secondary materials such as clippings on Auerbach, a photo of his tombstone, and materials regarding the opening of the Berthold Auerbach Museum in Nordstetten.
