West Prussia Jewish Community Collection
Scope and Content Note
Folder 1 contains a printed record of more than 2000 Jewish citizens in West Prussia, listing their original Jewish names, their new German names, and their home communities; the list was probably published in 1812.
Folder 2 holds two published articles regarding the history of Jews in West Prussia:
Max Aschkewitz, "Die Juden in Westpreussen am Ende der polnischen Herrschaft (1772)" in Zeitschrift für Ostforschung, 1957.
Max Bär, "Die Juden" in Westpreussen unter Friedrich dem Grossen, chapter 23, 1909, republished in 1965.
