Biographical Note

Lucie Benedikt was born 2/17/1925. In December 1938 she emigrated from Vienna, Austria to Great Britain with the help of Kindertransport. In 1943 she arrived in New York, where she earned a master’s degree at Columbia University and embarked on a career as a social worker.
