Scope and Content Note
The genealogical tables (29 pages) entitled ‘The descendents of Aron and Katharina (Breit) Neisser of Katscher (Upper Silesia, Germany [German Democratic Republic]), 1766-1978’ were created in 1978. Other materials include a 6-page typescript, ‘The Neisser families : Index to the family names’, as well as correspondence between John Henry Richter and the Leo Baeck Institute pertaining to the genealogical tables, 1978-1980.
The genealogical tables of the Neisser family were based on information provided by over 100 relatives between 1930 and 1978. The tables were first compiled by Prof. Dr. med. Max Neisser, recording 625 names; supplementary data was compiled by John Henry Richter between 1945 and June 1, 1978.
