Biographical Note

Friedericke Reisz, née Kohn was born 1913 in Berndorf, Niederoesterreich (Lower Austria); she later moved to Vienna, where she lived in the city’s II. District. She studied pharmacology at the University of Vienna, graduating in 1937. After two short imprisonments under the Nazis, Friedericke and her husband, the lawyer Ladislaus Reisz, immigrated to the US via Italy in 1940.
