Lachotzki Family Collection

 Collection
Identifier: AR 4149

Scope and Content Note

This collection contains the vital records and family papers of Bruno and Selma Lachotzki (later Lyon), as well as those of their children and ancestors.

This collection contains a large number of birth, death, and marriage records stretching into the mid 19th century, although many of the older documents are transcriptions or copies generated during the 1930s. Scattered within the first folder are a few other types of documents, including a military passport (1880s), a notarized family book, and some school records. The third folder contains correspondence, including a letter from the Saint-Cyprien camp and illustrated cards sent on special occasions, as well as various other family papers such as a register from a women's boarding house in Westphalia. The remaining materials include United States naturalization documents, a small amount of restitution correspondence, and two books commemorating Bruno and Selma Lachotzki's wedding and wedding anniversary.
