Biographical Note

Franz Blei was born in Vienna in 1871. He studied political science, economics, and literature at the universities of Zurich and Genf. He was an author and edited several literary journals. He left Vienna in 1898, and spent time in the US, Germany, and Mallorca, before her returned to Vienna in 1936. In 1938, he emigrated to the US via Italy and France. He died in Westbury, NY in 1942.
