Ester Rosenstark Family Collection
Scope and Content Note
The Ester Rosenstark Family Collection contains mostly photographs. These photographs were mostly taken in Zurich and Palestine. They cover a period from the 1880s till approximately 1942, when Ester's father died. The photos are all small black and white photographs, showing family and friends, the bulk portrays the two children Ester and Ruth.
The family is often shown with friends, in cafes or in front of Lake Zurich. Many pictures show Ester and Ruth during their childhood through adolescence. The folder also contains photos of Ester's maternal and paternal grandparents.
The documents are separated in official documents and personal papers. The official papers document the academic career of the children, the marriage, divorce and remarriage of Ester's parents and the change of name from Rozensztark to Rosenstark. The personal papers contain a drawing and an oversized picture as well as Ester Rosenstark’s overview of the family history.
