Biographical Note

After losing his position with the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the economist Werner Feilchenfeld emigrated to Palestine in 1935, where he was instrumental in the implementation of the Haavara (Transfer) Agreement, allowing Jews to move from Nazi Germany to Palestine. In 1948, Feilchenfeld became an economic adviser to the State of Israel.
