Biographical / Historical

The "Isachar Widows and Orphans Benevolent Society" was founded by German Jewish immigrants in New York in 1862. It organized social events and provided sick and burial benefits, as well as death benefits for surviving families. As a burial society, it used the Mt. Hope and Mt. Zion cemeteries.
