Biographical Note

The Reichsvertretung der Deutschen Juden was an umbrella association of German Jewish organizations that operated during the Nazi period. It was founded in September 1933 and headed by Rabbi Leo Baeck and Otto Hirsch. The organization coordinated the activities of the many Jewish community and political organizations in order to improve various aspects of the life of German Jews under the Nazi regime.
