Biographical / Historical

Born 1893 in Margolin/Prussia, educated in Berlin, started to work for Schocken in 1912 in Zwickau, instrumental in building the Schocken department store concern, general manager until 1934; forced retirement, emigration to Sweden, started factory for ski and rain wear; moved to the United States in 1940.
