Schild-Scheier family collection
Scope and Content Note
Noteworthy in Folder 1 are documents pertaining to emigration from Germany (Judenvermoegensabgabe) and immigration to France. Also included in this folder are school documents for Werner Schild from Leipzig, 1907-1911 and 1917, and for his son Frank Bernhard Schild from the Private Waldschule Grunewald, Berlin, 1935, and the American School in Paris, 1937.
The vital records in folder 5 comprise the marriage license for Suzanne Scheier’s parents, Julius Scheier and Hedwig Strakosch, Bruenn, 1905; and the birth certificate for Susanne Scheier, Glogau, 1907.

Biographical Note
Werner Schild was born 1901 in Leipzig Germany. He was married to Suzanne (Susanne) Schild née Scheier, who was born 1907 in Glogau, Silesia. Together with their son Frank they left Germany for France in 1933 and later immigrated to the U.S.

Abstract
Official documents pertaining mainly to the estate of the fur broker Werner Schild (1901-1976), including vital and educational records, correspondence, immigration and restitution papers. Also included are documents for his wife, Suzanne (Susanne) Schild née Scheier, and also their son, Frank Schild.
