Biographical Note

In the 1960s, the historian Ernst G. Lowenthal listed holdings of Jewish interest in various German federal, state and municipal archives throughout Germany. These lists were designed to facilitate the initial tasks of Leo Baeck Institutes in Jerusalem, London, and New York.
