Biographical Note

Born in Duesseldorf in 1924, as Gerd-Adolf Salomon. Parents divorced in 1930. Father Ludwig Salomon emigrated to South America. Gerrard stayed with mother Aenni (nee Mann) in Cologne. Transfer to Quakerschool Erde in Ommen near Zwolle in 1936. Immigrated to England with mother, sister and stepfather in 1939. Left for his father in Colombia in 1941. Immigrated to US in 1956.
