Biographical Note
Hermann Fuernberg was the head of the Gildemeester-Hilfskommittee, established in 1938. His focus was to help Jews immigrate to Abessina (Ethiopia). The group was named for the Dutch citizen, Frank van Gheel-Geldemeester and was dissolved in 1940. Hermann Fuernberg immigrated to the US and continued to work on the Abessinia project, even after 1945.
