Scope and Content Note

This collection contains materials on Christine Roth-Schurtman's family, especially her father Bruno Roth.

The bulk of the materials consists of photocopies of documents and correspondence, much of it directly related to Bruno Roth's emigration to the United States. The rest of the documents are vital records and personal papers, many also pertaining to Bruno Roth as well as his father Moritz Roth. Scattered among the folders is a small amount of Bruno Roth's personal correspondence. Additional materials include family trees, a memoir by Christine Roth about life as a "half-Jew" in Munich during the second World War, and two military portraits of Bruno Roth and Ignatz Stiefel taken during their service in the first World War.
