Cannstadt and Göppingen Sermons Collection

Scope and Content Note

The collection primarily comprises funeral sermons and holiday sermons given by a variety of rabbis or other teachers generally from Cannstadt, Göppingen, and the nearby environs.

Many of the sermons were written or given by Cantor Metzger, but there are also sermons given by Rabbiner Herz, Dr. D. Stötzel, Dr. Wassermann, the rabbi's widow J. Strassburger, Dr. M. Horovitz, Dr. Adolf Schwarz. Most of the handwritten exemplars are undated and unsigned.
