Kress-Heinemann Family Collection

 Collection
Identifier: AR 25732

Scope and Content Note

The collection contains two folders with school reports of Eva Heinemann (1/1) and Walter Kreslawsky (1/4). Both went to school in Germany. Walter went to the Goetheschule in Berlin-Wilmersdorf and Eva went to school in Braunschweig. They were the parents of Suzan Goldhaber. Suzan was born in New York City, after her parents immigrated into the United States. This information is stored in a family tree in folder 1/2. When Walter Kreslawsky got naturalized in the United States, he changed his last name to Kress. Folder 1/3 contains copies of handwritten recipes, from the first pages of the cookbook ABC der Küche, which was removed to the LBI library in a cookbook. The handwritten recipes are for desserts and sweet lunches like "Quarkknödel" (quark cheese-dumplings) and "Birnen im Glas" (pears in a glass). Additionally, the collection includes a portrait of Walter Heinemann (1882-1968) in an oversized folder.
