Celia Schweizer Collection
Scope and Content Note
The collection contains various documents and papers related to the life of Celia Schweitzer including family trees and geneology notes, several vital certificates, a poetry album, correspondence and sewing patterns.
The second folder contains personal and vital papers for various members of the Schweizer family, including birth and death certificates and some school papers. Also in this folder are transcriptions of letter the Schweizers received from friends interned in the Récébédou camp. In the following folder are a ledger book and a poetry album belonging to the bookbindery employee Siegfried Herzog. The poetry album is richly filled with dedications and illustrations signed by Herzog's friends. Attached to the inside of the back cover of Herzog's calculation book in folder three are several receipts for payment (1881) from the Barings Brothers, later Barings Bank. In the final folder are various patterns for needlework and knitting, including some original handdrawn patterns and others taken from German women's magazines. Finally, there are some family trees in the first folder and in the oversized folder.
The following family names appear in the geneology lists: Scheuer, Schweitzer Levy, Levis, Wolf, Warburg, Loeb, Dreyfus.
