Lotte Buff Family Collection
Scope and Content Note
The Lotte Buff Family Collection holds papers documenting the family's genealogy and a wedding. It includes an album of telegrams, letters and a poem and several family trees.
The album in the collection's first folder contains a large assortment of telegrams with greetings and congratulations on the wedding of Joseph Neuburger and Therese Gutmann in Nuremberg in 1937. The telegrams derived from family members in Germany, Palestine and the United States. In addition the album holds a few congratulatory letters and a poem for the occasion.
The second folder holds several family trees that document some of the family's many branches. Included are family trees for the Neuburger, Bendit, Rosenberger/ Hill, Bergmann and Muhr/ Fleischmann families. Several of the trees list family members as far as the 1600 and 1700s. Although many of the families' early members came from various towns in Bavaria (Ichenhausen, Fürth, Nördlingen, and Altenmuhr, among many others), the families ended up dispersed in various countries, including the United States (especially in places such as Philadelphia, New York State, Boston, New Jersey, and Maryland), as well as in Israel, British Columbia, and London.

Biographical Note
Lotte Buff was born in Ichenhausen, Germany on June 9, 1921 as the daughter of Heinrich Neuburger (1887-1978) and Hilde Bendit (1896-1987). She married Fritz (Fred) Buff in New York in 1945.
Heinrich's brother, Joseph Neuburger, married Therese Gutmann in Nuremberg, Germany in 1937.
