Carl Jaburg Collection
Scope and Content Note
This collection contains family papers, mostly vital records documents, and some genealogical materials pertaining to the Jaburg/Judas and their relatives in the Bloch and Lion families.
All of these families stem from Baden. In particular, most of the documents belong to Gustav Judas (later Jaburg). In addition to the documents, there are a couple of family photographs, the diary of Gustav Jaburg's son Karl, and some family trees. The family papers themselves are broken up into two folders: in the first folder are various vital records and documents from the early 19th century onwards, and the second folder contains the papers relevant to the family's emigration from Germany in 1941.

Biographical Note
Family of Gustav Judas (born 1886 in Ihringen, Germany, died 1951 in New York). Wife Hilde, née Bloch (1901-1982), son Karl (1926-). Family immigration records show that they resided in Freiburg im Breisgau at the time of the emigration from Germany. The family changed the name to Jaburg after emigrating to the United States in 1941. They settled in the Bronx, New York City.
