Biographical Note

Jakob Schlesinger was born Apr. 18, 1869 in Also Sutvez (Prievidza) and died July 24, 1937 at age 68. He was an engraver. His parents were Salomon and Hany Schlesinger.

Jakob Schlesinger and his wife Sidonie (Szidonia) (née Bienenstock, born Dec. 4, 1877, in Budapest) had four children: Else born Nov. 28, 1898; Alfred born Oct. 3, 1900; Auguste (f) born Aug. 12, 1902; Victor born March 12, 1904. Sidonie Loeffelmann's parents were Leopold Bienenstock and Deborah Kieselstein.

After Jakob Schlesinger's death Sidonie married Eugen Loeffelmann. She was repatriated from Hungary to Sweden in 1944 and immigrated to the USA in 1946.

1948 Sidonie's children lived in the following places: Else in Hartford, Conn.; Alfred in Sydney, Australia; Auguste in Boston, Mass.; Victor in New York, NY.

Moritz Dukes was born July 5, 1865 and died Feb. 18, 1921. His wife Julie Dukes (née Hersch) was born Dec. 9, 1868 in Ernsdorf and died Jan. 26, 1922. They had a son called Alfred.

Elsa Schlesinger (born Nov. 28, 1898 in Vienna; died April 10, 1966 in Riverside, NY) married Alfred Dukes (born Sep. 23, 1893 in Vienna) on July 5, 1925.
