Hans David Blum Collection
Scope and Content Note
The Hans David Blum Collection documents his research of the history of his family and consists of correspondence, documents, photographs, manuscripts and notes, genealogical tables and trees, and clippings. Additionally there is a small amount of personal materials.
Materials dealing with Hans David Blum’s genealogical research can be found throughout the entire collection, however the bulk of these materials are located in Series II: Genealogy. These materials include correspondence with other researchers and family members, vital and other documents, such as birth and death certificates, registries, marriage certificates, some manuscripts and notes, genealogical tables, and photocopies and printed materials.
Materials collected here are research files and include very few originals.
Additionally, there are family photographs and well as photographs of the Jewish cemeteries, where the ancestors of Hans David Blum are buried.
Other materials include manuscripts and clippings that cover topics such as the history of the Blum family and other related families, German Jews in a historical prospective, particularly the Jews of Müllhein and Baden.
Small amount of personal materials consists of correspondence and photographs.

Biographical Note
Hans David Blum was born in 1919 in Breisach am Rhein, Germany. He is the author of a number of books, including Juden in Breisach .
