Levi Schwalm Collection
Scope and Content Note
This collection contains documents pertaining to Levi Schwalm's training and professional career as an elementary school teacher in Lower Saxony.
The first folder contains various personal papers and documents, including teacher certifications, employment documents, and notably a certificate of retirement from 1933. In the second folder are various handwritten lectures and lesson plans (Lehrproben) for the classroom, on a wide variety of topics ranging from history and religion to natural sciences. Finally, the last folder contains a bound "chronicle" in which Schwalm reports general facts and figures for each school year, and recounts notable events in narrative format.

Born in 1878 in Treysa, taught at Jewish schools in Bovenden and Dransfeld.
