Biographical Note
Frieda, Joseph and Elizabeth Ehrenstein left Vienna immediately after Kristallnacht (November 9, 1938) for Zurich, Switzerland, where they stayed until 1940. They eventually reached the USA via Portugal. Pauline Unger and her husband stayed in Vienna until their deportation to Theresienstadt, where they perished.
