Werner Zimmt Family Collection

 Collection
Identifier: AR 6383

Scope and Content Note

The bulk of the collection is made up of family trees and photocopies of vital documents relating to the Zimmt, Dziersowitz, Goetz, Scheuer, Pasch, and Schlesinger families.

Most materials in this collection are photocopies with the exception of some items in folder four. The family trees which comprise the bulk of the collection were created largely with the aid of computer programs and present basic vital information about family members in a tabular format. A couple of the trees were created earlier and follow a more traditional typescript or diagrammatic format. The bulk of the photocopied documents are vital records such as birth and marriage certificates, although some emmigration documents and various family papers are also mixed in. Notably, a few original documents, including Werner Zimmt's immigration visa for the United States in the 1935, are in folder four. Finally, there are a few short manuscripts pertaining to the various families represented in the collection. The manuscript in folder 8 is a translation of the book Schrimmer Jugenderinnerungen by Hermann Schreiber; the original is available in the LBI library.

The following families are mentioned in this collection: Abraham, Abramson, Aizenstaedt, Alexander, Alter, Aschkenasy, Bahr, Barbanell, Barth, Baumann, Behrmann, Benjamin-Philipp, Berliner, Bernstein, Boschwitz, Brauer, Brisch, Bruck, Bry, Bulkin, Cohn, Daniel, Danziger, Desnick, Doering, Dornitzer, Dziersowitz, Effner, Ehrlich, Einstein, Eisner, Engel, Englaender, Engleson, Fecheimer, Feller, Folenberg, Fraenkel, Freudenthal, Friedman, Fuchs, Galowsky, Ganz, Gedalge, Geier, Gerngross, Giacone, Goeritz, Goetz, Gold, Goldenring, Goldring, Goldschmidt, Gotain, Gradenwitz, Gross, Gruen, Gruenewald, Gumpert, Hartmann, Herman, Hertz, Herz, Heymann, Hieronymus, Hirschfeld, Hirsekorn, Hirst, Hirstein, Hochstaetter, Huebsch, Jacob, Jacobi, Jaffe, Jakob, Jordan, Kaempf, Kahn, Kamjaner, Kaplan, Kirstein, Kisch, Kraft, Kroener, Krotoschiner, Krotozyner, Kunz, Laemmle, Landsberg, Landsberger, Lehman, Leopold, Less, Levi, Levine, Levinsohn, Levysohn, Lewens, Lewin, Lichtenstaedter, Lichtenstein, Littauer, Loeser, Loewenstein, Loewy, Lothringer, Lowens, Mack, Manasse, Mangas, Marcuse, Marschau, May, Mayer, Meier, Menke, Merzbacher, Mogendorf, Mohr, Moses, Motter, Muehsam, Nathan, Nelken, Neufeld, Neumann, Neuschuler, Oppenheim, Orenstein, Ostrowski, Pagel, Pasch, Permer, Philipp, Pick, Polack, Portner, Putziger, Rainer, Rehfisch, Reichenbach, Reimann, Reis, Reisner, Reiss, Riese, Rosenthal, Rothstein, Salisch, Saltzman, Salz, Samelson, Sandelowsky, Schenck, Scheuer, Schey, Schlenker, Schlesinger, Schoenberger, Schoenberger, Schreiber, Schueftan, Schwarz, Schwarzenberger, Selig, Senff, Senter, Sieg, Silberberg, Silbermann, Simon, Smosziner, Soveroski, Stahl, Steinberg, Sternberg, Sternfeld, Stillman, Stillman, Struck, Struck, Taube, Teitelbaum, Thaer, Thon, Tietokoski, Traub, Tumin, Vieloehner, Wassertruedinger, Weil, Weil, Weltzman, Wilde, Wolff, Wollmann, Zielenziger, Zimmt, and Zuckermann.
