Biographical Note

The Wolf family is from Stuttgart. The textile firm of W. Wolf & Söhne was active for five generations. In 1932/33 the family emigrated to Linthal, Switzerland, and in 1939 they emigrated to Buenos Aires.

In the 1890s Isidor Wolf started the American branch of the textile business in Boston.

Separated Material

5 tefillin belonging to various Wolf family members have been removed to the Art and Objects collection.

Note

The family trees are low-quality photocopies; legibility is poor and some text is cut off.

Much of the text in the sales ledger books (folders 2 and 3) is carbon-copied, and accordingly the legibility is poor.
